AMD Announces Q4 2015 Earnings, Posts 10% Loss – Full Year Results in 2015 Show 28% Decline in Reven

er... really?

Yes really, AMD always wanted Nvidia not ATI but it's been widely reported that Hector Ruiz and Jen-Hsun Huang had a clash of egos and the deal feel through. You have to remember AMD was a much larger 10 years ago and NVidia were also smaller then they are now

AMD have been bleeding for years, we all know this won't change until they get some new exciting products out. Which they are working on.

This is the best bit about the link, Zen on track for later this year with greater than 40% IPC increase. Polaris about to shake things up in GPU space.

Yeah they couldn't compete in the CPU field because of the node difference against intel. 2015 was a kick in the nuts again as 20nm was cancelled and with it some new GPUs, so they had to do something with the old ones.

This year however can be a good one for AMD. Even if Zen don't catch up closely to the new Intel CPUs, it could turn out to be a viable option to build machines, and GloFo/TSMC finally seem to catch up to Intel on the nodes, so they can keep up the pace if Zen is a success.
Polaris also look promising, after the 2015 fiasco they can finally put something to the table.

If AMD can get back to even the days of the Phenom II X6 against the Lynnfield Core i5,and have a more compelling product stack for laptops,it would probably at least be a good start.

Its really sad that so many people seem to want them to fail. What fun itl be with Intel and nvidia milking their customers. If it comes to that Il just abandon pc gaming tbh.

I don't think anyone wants them to fail and I expect most would like to see a healthy AMD going toe to toe with Nvidia and vying for our money.

There's about two people here who actually want AMD to fail. A tiny minority.

Some of us don't buy into their hype, but actually want them to succeed, regardless of whether we buy from AMD or their competitors.

Most of us understand that competition - real competition - is a good thing. The CPU space has demonstrated very well what happens if AMD don't push Intel.

Yeah but a lot are too short sighted to put there money where there mouth is :p Come the next Nvidia promotion (even if it's not very good and still overpriced) you'll still see all the people wetting there pants and buying half-baked stuff like the 970.

I'm really hoping AMD do a wing dinger with the polaris and zen, nothing annoys me more than watching people moan and cry that something is 2 or 3% performance difference below the competition so it is awful.

I can see their gpu's doing fine, tbh i dont see much at all wrong with their current line up. Cpu range though i dont hold out much hope for. Id love to be wrong on the latter point as it may finally force intel into improving their mainstream chips by a bit more than 10% per generation.
