***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

Yeah that's the one. There were about 16 stickers in the set, which is a pain but they do feel super sticky and likely to last. The most awkward one was trying to centre a sticker over the curved glass of the cockpit. So hard to judge it right, mines a little wonky but not wonky enough for me to risk peeling it off and trying again.

I initially dismissed the set based on the number of stickers. Then I started to warm to it and actually decided I liked it and would probably grab it when on offer somewhere... And then I read the Brickset review of it where they said the canopy markings were stickers and I ran away again!

That set seems a lot of money to me for what it is, not bad value I suppose by piece. There's only really old leia I/we would want. Takodana set is the one I have my eye on daily. Again this is priced way to high for 400 pieces at £49.99. I know it will fall to £35 and then I will get it. Ren is much better in this than the command ship. Nice to see a kit with a good amount of main characters for a change.

All the battle packs, carbon freezing chamber, escape pod and hoth set are in my basket waiting for a decent freebie on the lego site :)

The hoth set will go with my sons hot base nicely while we wait to look at the new Hoth UCS.

I hadn't bought any lego for years until I discovered this thread and started thinking that my life was somehow incomplete!

I picked up the 42008 recovery truck a couple of months ago, and I have to say technics sets have come along a bit since my first one (8854 crane)
I then accidentally bought the 42030 Volvo wheeled loader with a cheeky low bid on ebay just before Christmas :D

My only concern is that I think my wife is going to kill me when the next parcel turns up!!

On bag 5 of the Technic Mercedes truck and I'm missing 2 pieces :(

I searched all the bags and scoured the blanket all the pieces are on and nothing :( Can't really progress with the build anymore and not sure what to do? I have 4 other Technic sets built, so I could take the pieces from there short term and then contact Lego (They are fairly common pieces and I'm sure they are easy to salvage from the 24 hour race car). It's only my 6th set so no idea how common missing bricks is, but I guess there is a procedure to contact Lego covered pages back in this long thread?

Ah well, this annoyance will stop me buying more expensive technic sets, so not all bad!

Had a few missing parts from the 2 Acros kits too, the first kit lego quickly sent the replacement parts (about 5 days) and the second I just bought the parts off the bay due to wanting the parts before Xmas.

Had parts missing from other technic kits and tbh due to the excellent customer service and the free replacements it hasn't put me off buying the large technic kits.

Heads up Amazon have a £10 off £50 spend today with the code "BIGTHANKS".

Items have to be sold by Amazon though, not resellers. You can always add a couple of nominal items like a 1p GiffGaff SIM to make it up to £50 if necessary.

Might make that Takodana set more appealing ;)

I think that Takodana set is wholy disappointing. There's just nothing to it apart from some orange brick ruins, a bit of a tree and some mini figures. I mean is that the best they could do? I appreciate that price point and all that but its a bit of a nothing set.

As every thing it's all about the minifigs and when this is £35 it will be worth it. It's got one of the best line ups of minifigs, it's unusual for them to throw that many main figures on a star wars set. It got a good review on brickset but I know my son will not play with the main set for long. It will be all about Ren Finn and Maz. It's a much better way to get a Ren than the awful command ship, cheaper and a better version of Ren, imho.

Same with sets like the Palpatine arrest, it's all about the minifigs. I don't think it's crazy to assume that if you could just buy minifigs most people would have very few full sets.

Only decent buys on amazon with that voucher would be the Mini Cooper at £65, Crawler Crane at £87 and the Heavy Lift Helicopter at £87, unless you combine of course.

Anyone purchased the new Tie fighter yet? (75095)

Really tempted by this.

Not really "new" anymore, but yes.

Dull build (IMO) but great model...

I have the UCS variants of the Slave, X Wing and Tie Fighter (plus the Tumbler), and the Tie Fighter was the worst most monotonous to build out the lot, but is my favourite on display so was definitely (almost) worth it! :D

Agreed. It looks more imposing that the others.

Slave 1 was probably my favourite to build though.
