On the road....
My nephew has £500 for a new gaming PC, he already has keyboard, mouse, two 1440x900 monitors.

So, his best solution for a £500 gaming rig please, I'm assuming he'll need an OS too, an SSD would be nice but not vital.

So, spec me a Case, PSU, RAM, CPU, HD, Graphics Card, Motherboard,DVD R/W and OS please (and anything I've forgotten!) performance is much more important than looks, the cheaper and more basic the case for example, the better.

He plays ARMA / DayZ.

I'm trying to persuade him to go used as I think he'll get much more bang for his buck as such but would like to see what options we have for a new build.

Thanks. :)

Thanks stulid, I'm taking it as a given that going the AMD route for the cpu is a waste of time given the i5's better performance?

I'm local so will be collecting so postage cost comes off too. :)

What kind of performance will this build provide with games like BF4, Elite Dangerous etc? I'm trying to spec a good bang for buck 1080p 60fps build, but it's difficult to nail it down. Haswell or skylake, i3 or i5, 8 or 16gb RAM?

To be honest.

Arma runs like solidified ****.

And a R9 380 wouldn't hurt (with a 500-550W PSU to cope) for 1080P gaming.
