iPhone won't connect to PC - other methods for music transfer?

Basically I am borrowing an iPhone 5 because my contract phone is kaput. However no matter what I try it refuses to connect to iTunes or be recognised by my PC.

All I want is to put the albums off of my pc (that i didnt purchase through itunes, so dont show up on the phone) onto the phone. Is there a method for this without usb connection?

iTunes can sync over wifi, not sure how to enable it though.

Settings > General > iTunes WiFi Sync

Problem is, you have to connect it to the computer using a cable and select the option in iTunes.

Does the computer not recognise it at all? Tried different port(s)/cable(s)?

Yup, factory reset the iphone, reset both, reinstalled itunes, tried 2 different usb cables, in every port. Nothing

Thats the next port of call I think. I assume it would just be a hardware issue with the phone if this doesn't work.

There an article in Apple telling how to fix this, if your phones not recognised. Basically uninstall all Apple programs and drivers in a particular order, then reinstalls iTunes. If jail broken you could use ifunbox, or install spotify and bdayspotify2 then you won't need to transfer music
