So windy this morning. Joy. I did get literally blown sideways a couple of times when passing gaps between buildings and the like.

There's also some roadworks on a major road into Manchester which held me up for ages because the temporary traffic lights didn't change for about 5 minutes even though there was a massive queue. I ended up getting off and walking a few hundred yards on the pavement

yup same here, just add buildings for 11 miles straight ;) every street, gap etc will blow you sideways.. ! it doesn't matter what direction the wind blows in london, because of the tall buildings you'll be all over the place and struggling!

yesterday was bad, today was bad too.. annoying to say the least!

First Zwift tonight... was fun! Only did a quick 11k mind as I had dinner to cook. I'll hop on in the morning before work I think. Aim for 30km a day/ 150 a week is what I'm going for at the moment...

Zwift is fun! Although it can be very hard to just jump on it and really achieve much without racing, although to be honest it's quite nice to ride without too much of a plan at times. Once you start unlocking stuff it can be quite a good incentive to ride more, but I found it much easier to rack up the miles following some of the training plans. You could try joining some of the group rides, yet most of them seem to be 2.5 w/kg or higher for a lap or so - which is quite hard going!

Haha, you might give him an extra excuse though. "Sorry, I'm only suited to low kinetic energy situations."

I've been trying to train high KE on the turbo but not had much success finding a training plan... :p;)

40+ mph gales predicted tomorrow. Time to get some PRs and/or be blown off into traffic.

I came close (but thankfully only to the segment, not the other!) :D

Still creaky!

Cleaned and relubed the chain and jockey wheels, undid and reinstalled the chainring bolts with loctite.

Cleaned and relubed the freehub pawls.

Cleaned the drop outs.

Hope it's gone! One of those that doesn't show itself in the stand and on,y sometimes when riding. Take it to the shop and they'd have no hope, just change parts at random I expect!

Pedal springs/grit in cleats? Saddle rails?

I'd also check rear spokes, rear hanger and headset... But they all tend to be clickysqueaks rather than creaks and I've had problems with them all on my Giant...!

My LBS are the same - they're busy, so usually only have time to ride the bike 20/30 meters so if they don't hear the noise in that time it's 'fixed'.

I've usually done 30-50 miles by the time I get there so any kind of food is cycling food as far as my stomach is concerned :p

I also am lacking in fitness massively. I didn't wear an HRM on my way home today but with the wind and trying not to let my power drop too much I felt like my chest was going to burst quite a few times...

Its probably just over 20 miles by the time I get there if I go direct. With most of it being flat, it sometimes feel that I haven't earned it though.

Seriously need to up the miles. I've not done over 50 miles in a ride since October 10th. That's depressing.

To be honest Sa Calobra isn't that long, especially for those guys. Quite a common route, I rode pretty much exactly the same when I was out there last year.

Yep, not long or hard for them. Im confident that I could do it but its not something which fills me with excitement, especially on a hot hot day. Maybe just focus on how awesome the decent is! :)

If you're on innuendo patrol, you might want to watch the fact that you admitted to getting "blown off in traffic"

Wait, maybe that's not the best smiley to use.

If only my cycle rides were remotely as fun as that.... :(

Ouch, that is a long time. I'm sure given your proximity to ridiculous hills you can get yourself back on form in no time though.

The descent isn't that great to be honest, can't get a great deal of speed up unfortunately. I prefer the descent from Lluc going South.

Penny dropped and wife realised I had 2 road bikes downstairs (she's been riding the Endurace on the trainer...) and one is "new" and so I'm back in the dog house. Or basement, whichever I can live in...

This morning was somewhat fun... being blown left right and centre throughout the city centre.
Was expected, but was a tough ride especially in Derby, the slight climb up Elton road was just hard work.

Does anybody wear Rivelo here? Trying to expand beyond my DHB collection I have gained thus far, tempted by their Langcliffe Rain Jacket and their Honister Bibshorts.

Sportspersuit links above, they look quite decent and not too badly priced, intrigued for some new kit.

All of a sudden, I appreciate being single. :p

Haha you're hard to please. Its flipping brilliant compared to anything I'm exposed to on a standard bike ride!

But I do agree though, the Luic descent is great, through the pine trees and down into Caimari. You avoid the tourist buses too.

Yep! Almost blown into the path of close passing cars and vans this morning in Twickenham :( 20mph limit, doing 18mph too... why do they even bother trying to pass...?

Nope but if you do let us know how it is! I have been tempted to try but lack of free returns and free delivery from Sportpursuit generally puts me off bothering.

:D:D:D I hadn't spotted it (nor mine for that matter... My mind is generally too tired to spot them!) :p

 @ FT, don't just pick on me! :p

Hahaha, how long did it take her? At least the Bianchi is gone so you don't have 3...!

They seem to review well and at £50 a pair you're in the territory of good sale/discounted bibs. Castelli/Sportful/Ale bibs on sale spring to mind - picked up my pairs of Evoluzione for £45 in the autumn.

Evans have them, limited sizes/colours). Castelli not released their 2016 shorts range yet?
These Gore would be a good shout, although only Black available in normal sizes.

The Gore and Castelli are 'Italian' sizing (as are most premium brands) so size up in them. L in DHB is XL etc!

Today's power meter temptation... A powertap wheelset on ebay for £300. Interest seems to be limited as the seller has said there's s bit of play in the rear hub and it needs a service.

Beware a Powertap "bearing" gifts. :p Generally they're very reliable but service costs are generally on the steep side (some LBS may be willing to do the bearings however). The issue is the torque tube is known to break and a repair is typically more than the cost of a secondhand wheelset. It's not a regular occurrence by any means but something to be aware of.

Good grief, it was stupidly windy this evening.
Absolutely mental commuting fixed gear yesterday. Really had to push. Great fun, but I'm surprised my bad knee hasn't exploded today

Fell asleep on the sofa just after 9, crawled up to bed about 10 and didn't wake up until 7:15 this morning :D

Had some discounts for sportpursuit when you spend so much.

SP-JY-40 - £40 off £200
SP-JY-15 - £15 off £100
SP-JY-10 - £10 off £75

Hmm, that's good to know. Would you say your much vaunted P2M units are less susceptible to eye watering repair/service costs then?
