i have a decent enough PC but no graphic card.
i am happy enough using my xbox one, but brother prefers KB/M on PC so he tends to get games on that.

now i know The Division looks heavily built around Team play, which we used to love playing on gears of war etc, so i am looking at the cheapest graphic card to run The Division reasonably well on my TV without spending loads (because i would have to buy a keyboard and mouse)

looking at specs im sure i read they recommend the 970, but dont really want to spend that much..
im past the whole nvidia/amd thing so im happy to buy in either camp as long as it runs the game ok.

recommendations guys?

The recommended Spec is GTX 970 so anything around that should be fine. Minimum Spec is GTX 760/HD7770

You could go for a 280X second hand on the MM and that should still run it. Have a look on the MM and see whats available.
:)

AMD R9 390
:)

Is it a 1080p tv?

If you've no gripes in buying used, see link for a good 970 in clearance.

the 90 day thing with OCUK worries me and would much prefer to buy new and get some decent warranty behind me.

thanks for the link though

edit: would the 960 be ok? i like the look of the 4gb EVGA 960 mini

the 960 is quite a lot less powerful than a 970, if it says recommended 970 the 960 is going to fall quite short.

other option to consider is the 390 as other have said if you dont mind going team red, However the 390 is quite a bit more power hungry so check your PSU

i have an evga supernova GS 650w.
thing is the 390 is similar in price to the 970.
didnt want to spend that because of having to get a keyboard and mouse as well

380 would run it fine at 1080p the 4 gig version usually same price as 960....but is faster

You wouldn't break the bank on it and can get a solid keyboard and gaming mice with change

actually take that back for another 10 pounds you can get 380X

or go with 380 both 4 gig cards.....both faster than 960.....

4 gig 960s roughly same price; but 380X is that much faster.....for 10 pounds more no brainer......

Bought a couple of B Grades from ocUK in the past and never had a problem.
Usually from my experience is that if something isn't DOA or dies within a couple of weeks - it's most likely going to last. You can always put the GPU through serious stress test for a couple of days and if it survives that I see no reason why it wouldn't last a few more years.

That's my experience too. My B Grade 290 is still running fine after a year's use...

A 390 and 970 are basically interchangeable in terms of performance thus either would suffice.

I would say though to wait and see how the beta performs before committing to either card. It may be a game which favours one side over the other (for whatever reason). The beta is this weekend so not long to wait (you could always try it out this way on your Xbone).
