I'm trying to determine what the best used GPUs are in the £100-120.00 range. GPU prices have gone crazy the last few years.

With how fast GPUs & graphics / monitors have been changing I am lost. I know how to cool things, but graphics cards and monitor are VooDoo magic.:D

I have a Z170M Mortar and i7 6700K. I've been using my ENGTX580 DCII/2DIS/1536MD5 and like it .. a lot. Only complaint is fans don't idle down slow enough. They never go fans or get loud, but default keeps them at too fast an idle.

I'm thinking something like a GTX 680 or similar with large cooler. Love the looks of Gainward Phantoms My ENGTX580 DCII is great. Some of the big 3x fan GPUs look good too.

Should I get a used GPU now .. or should I wait a little for prices to come down?

You might get a vanilla 290 for 120 or a smidgen more if you look around. 7970s/680s can be had for about 100 on the bay but on members market there are some steals. I sold my 7970 lightning for 80quid on mm.

Id keep an eye out on members market. Might be able to pick up a gtx 670/680 for that sort of figure. Gigabyte windforce triple fan cards are pretty good, or the msi twin frozr models. The latter uses two larger fans which make them a bit quieter.

Lots of good input. Thanks guys!

Quiet is critical. I love the looks of big massive coolers . like my sig rig has. Anyone know anything about Gainward Phantoms? Their reviews look good, but I know how reviews go for all the CPU coolers I use and test. :p

Someone else suggested the GTX 960 too.

Never owned a gainward phantom. But ive had windforce cooled gigabyte 670's and 780's, also an msi twin frozr 650ti in my second rig. My 980ti in sig uses a similair cooler to the 650. The msi's are extremely quiet, even with the fans ramped up manually. At 80% speed it's barely audible. Above 65% the windforce cooled cards do produce a much more audible amount of noise.

You can get a GTX770 for just over £100 used. Thats a fantastic card. Will run most anything 1080p High/max graphics at 1080p. My last card was 770.

Look out for 7950/7970 (280/280x), usually the cards you'll find around this budget used that also give you the best performance for the money.
