How often do you go to the cinema?

Once or twice a month, always to 11-12pm screenings on Monday nights. Tickets aren't hugely cheaper here, but being allowed to take in your own popcorn/tea/beer (mostly beer) helps a lot.
 
Usually 5-6 films a month. Even if I didn't have an Unlimited card I'd probably still go 3-4 times a month as our local does £5 nights through the week.

I used to use Orange Wednesdays but now like everything else :mad: it is more expensive.

We have a private cinema where I am, but it is like £9 or 2D or £12 I think for 3D for an adult! :eek: Which I think is way too high.

Do you think prices for going to the cinema are close to extortionate? That's without any drinks :p

Since changing to Meerkat movies it got better if anything. I go to the local odeon quite often lately with a mate as their tickets are only £5 so £2.50 each....

I'll go to the IMAX at Cineworld for certain big films though.

Probably averages out at once a month but I go through periods of going weekly when there are decent films out

Before 2006, even more rarely. I only recall seeing Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy... then a huge 10-year gap to Waterworld, Jurassic Park, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves then ofc the Disney repeats (Snow White / Bambi etc) during childhood.

Yep, haven't been to the cinema for 11 years.

Cinema really is only for big action blockbusters for me, Movies that take advantage of the huge screen and massive sound stage.

No point for movies like Spotlight, Room and Carol. Those sort of movies.

Never anymore,Too expensive,And if its anything from my last experience a loooonnnggg time ago..people like to talk a lot and play on their mobiles.

Whats the point in going to watch a movie if your going to blab on half way through it and play on your phone...not only are you missing half of the movie,your annoying people that actually are trying to watch!
 
Brand new cinema opening soon here in Darlington. Can't wait. We have another cinema in town but it's old with crap seats, so a movie night used to mean travelling to Teesside/Middlesboro. I probably go 3/4 times a year but with a new cinema in town I think I'll be going more often.
 
once a month usually. we have a local regional cinema which does buy one get one free on mondays with a yearly membership. £10. Works out at a 5er for both people
 
I probably average a trip every month, but it very much depends on the films being shown.

The only reason I go to the cinema now is because I don't want to wait to see a specific film. I no longer go for the 'cinema experience' because it is dreadful.

- the last film I saw was The Revenant, at Brighton Marina. This was ruined by two sets of adults removing children to either go to the loo or take them out of the film (it's a 15!) and one chap at the back snoring loudly.

- the previous film I saw was The Heart of the Sea in Ipswich. This film was ruined by a gaggle of teen / pre-teen girls who, presumably, treat the monthly Cineworld subscription as an excuse to pretend the screening is akin to a coffee shop and just natter and check phones throughout the film. The cinema attendants did nothing to stop it even when asked.

Countless other recent examples, without even going near the price gouging of snacks and drinks. I endure the cinema rather than enjoy it. I can't wait for technology to develop and kill it off all together.
 
I loved going to the cinema when it's peaceful but its an absolute misery if not and I feel no longer worth the gamble, usually there will be a woman that can't go 1 minute without coughing or people lighting up their mobiles at random throughout the film, really distracting.

Meh.

Tell said people to be quiet, if that does not work inform the staff. If that does not work, leave and ask for a refund.

Maybe try going to the cinema at a different time or a different cinema.
