980ti warratny transfer in overclockers

I recently bought a 980ti zotac extreme amp

I understand that there is a 5 year warranty with overclockers, but i think its 3 years with overclockers and a further 2 years with zotac as long as its registered in the 1st 30 days

To fund a massive upgrade im now selling the zotac, i put it on the bay as members market wont allow me to sell as im still a newish member.

but potential buyers are asking about the transfer of warranty to new ownership?

How will they claim if the card gets faulty within the warranty period and do I have to do anything?

I will of course give them the overclockers invoice.

The way it's typically done on the MM is that the original owner will get the warranty return arranged, AFAIK only EVGA officially offer warranty transfers.

so for example if one was to buy the card and somthing happened then they would not be eligible for warranty? via zotac or ocuk?

MSI and Gigabyte also have warranty transfers based on the serial rather than original purchaser.

If accurate that's good. All manufactures warranty should follow the item and not just be given to the original purchaser in this day and age.

I agree, I think the best way around this is to basically issue the overclockers invoice and tell the buyer to use my credentials or the legit way would be to claim warranty by myself on behalf of the 2nd buyer, I'm gonna have a look at zotac website to see if I can get more info....

Ok basically the original purchaser can only claim warranty, it hass go through the reseller which is ocuk, the remainder extended 3 years must be dealt with directly through Zotac, again only the original purchaser can claim and has to provide the invoice and the registration certificate which I have and it's not transferable , I bet most people to know that until they have to claim themselves..

MSI you have to upload the actual invoice for registering your motherboard or GPU, so it will have the person who originally bought the item.

Gigabyte go off the receipt also, they actually request it when you do an RMA.

MSI go by manufacture date if you don't have the original invoice.
Have you done an RMA recently?

i did one 6 months ago when my inno3d 980 died, but overclockers dealt with it, and all i did was to call them and give them the order number, they did not request any details i.e name address ect or the invoice, i just sent it in a box with the rma number written on the box, thats all
