How do I decide. I like them both. There really isn't much in it.

Im ordering for 1st March Delivery.

HELP ME DECIDE!

I love the orange wildtrak ranger, but the lack of full leather upsets me. However the limited comes with the full leather but not all the other toys, and i prefer the styling on the Wildtrak over the limited.

The hills has grown on me, to start with i hated the design, the pointy nose put me off. But thats changed now and i do like it.

Anyone have either or has tested them both for a period of time?

From your post it sounds like you want the ranger.

You dont mention the model of the Hilux.

Any reason you have not included any other manufacturers in your choice?

I spotted the Ranger in my Ford dealership, spotted it because well it looked good! Sat inside it and the whole interior was quite a disappointment, cheap plastics everywhere, but this is maybe the norm with this class of vehicle but not seen a Hilux interior so cannot compare.

Compared to the GM Tahoe I had for a week in the USA, the Ranger really lacked in quality, but in fairness the GM Tahoe is a $50,000 SUV, so more up-market.

What a bizarre comparison. I also hear that the Ford Transit lacks interior quality compared to a Range Rover.

The Ranger is basically a commercial vehicle, why on earth would it be comparable to a luxury SUV.

Because that is what I had for comparison, like I stated, I suspect the lower quality is the normal on such a vehicle and I pointed out I was comparing it to a premium SUV that cost $50,000.

My old man bought a ranger to replace his battered old warrior. He mainly bought it as he was buying some vans at the time and his warrior was dying so they cut him a good deal. That combined with the silly wait times for other pick ups he went for it. After living with it a while he hates the thing. He says the ride is just awful and it has no redeeming features at all.

I haven't driven one, but my next door neighbour had a Ford Ranger (2014) and got rid of it early, his primary criticism being the manual gearbox was pretty bad, among other complaints about comfort...perhaps something to consider if you're looking for a manual gearbox. His expectations of comfort might have been a bit high, I think he essentially used it for commuting. If you're buying one to spend more time off road than on, perhaps less of a concern.

It's a builders pickup truck, expect more than this and you'll be unhappy. It isn't an SUV or for doing the school run. It's for doing a job.

Your neighbour is a simpleton. It's a working vehicle not a commuters ride. The gearbox is designed for heavy use, it's not refined in the slightest.

I don't about the OP but if I was getting a truck it would have to be Auto. Having a manual in a truck must be so tedious...even more so if its a work vehicle.

Have you looked at the VW Amarok?

You looked at the Navara, if your looking for some element of comfort this is probably the best IMO. I have a Navara after looking at Rangers, L200's and Hi-Lux's and for lugging stuff about its great, but the few times I have to transport the family, the heated leather seats, and space makes it a decent place to be for what it is.

The gearbox aint to bad but you need to get past trying to look for a refined drive, when all in its a van :D

But its up to you and dependant on your primary need for a truck
