John wick - A step to far

It did seem a bit video game. Still haven't gotten around to finishing it. Might do tonight. Poor red-shirts did take an awful beating iirc though.

It would be not different than any FPS if this movie where made into a game, in fact what a brilliant idea! anyone got K R's phone number. All the people he kills in this movie are gangsters as the above post states. When he was robbed, beaten and made puppyless as far as the thugs knew john Wick was just a normal guy, they had it coming

It's sadistically chilling in comparison to easily ignored stupid spray and pray action heroes, whose skill comes mostly from Hollywood fake reality. John Wick to me is almost like watching a snuff film.

Sorry we're now into troll baiting territory.

You'll be suggesting Carry on Matron is akin to hardcore porn next.

In fairness, those are considerably more problematic, as they're about sustained graphic torturous violence against innocent victims.

Yeah, I know. I'd just like to see a gif of all the faces he'd pull while watching :p

The point was that if he thinks John Wick is like a snuff film, then he ain't seen nothing yet.

Found myself considering connections with Road To Perdition and was hoping KR's character would snuff it in a similarly meaningful way for a better ending.

I think people have got the wrong end of the stick with regards to how much I care. It's the logical part of my brain that says I should care and that the film should disgust me with the amount of violence but I'm not at all bothered.
I think that's bad considering the content that I was merely describing to be worse than the average flik.

The reason I say so is that, the next logical step is strong and stronger violence, so as I said where is a step to far? John Wick or more?

I think that is down to who is receiving the violence.

Well, for my part, I found some of the violence in Kingsman a big grotesque and over the top.

Guess you don't have a dog.

If that happened to my dog and I possessed the skills of Mr Wick, I'd do the same as him.

But yeah, it's a little more about the connection in this case.

Damn straight! A dog is a man's best friend. It is loyal, it doesn't connive or stab you in the back in so many ways like so many people.

I saw this film when it was first released but at the time thought nothing of it. However on re-watching it from sky movies, it dawned on me how extremely graphic and violent this film is compared to normal action films. The brutality of his actions are made exponentially worse by leaving no innocent (security) man alive, compared to your usual revenge film. Coupled with his single shot assassinations , which is far more realistic than your average many clip action heroes.
It made me wonder how it was so easily allowed by the film review board and how unemotional I felt when watching it. Almost as if death meant nothing to watch and that I have been purposely desensitized by Hollywood.

I almost agree with the crazy left wing that certain things are a step to far.

Thoughts on my musings? (sorry if you thought this was a sequel) lol

your looking at the story from a normal person eyes. most would obviously think it maybe over the top.

what you have to remember is who he is or was in the film. a assassin cold blooded killer. so to him it is nothing more than a job.
