Is it possible to get wall/rawl plugs small enough for a 4mm drill hole? Not having much luck with google, most seems to state 5mm drill hole minimum.

I'm wanting to drill into grouting in my bathroom to fit a loo roll holder and it looks like a 5mm hole would risk hitting the tiles either side. I'd rather drill through the grouting in case I want to change it/move it at a later date.

Id just go for ones that require a 5mm hole then slightly elongate the hole along the grout line if need be to get it in then use a small screw. the plugs will flex to fit.

The size of screw is key as you don't want to put too much pressure on the grout line and risk popping the tiles.

How hard did you try with google? :p

First hit on google for "4mm wall plugs" is a link to a pack of 3-4mm wall plugs from screwfix for 29p. They say a 5mm drill hole in the spec but they'll go in no problem, they are very compressible :)

So actually you haven't found any that specify 4mm?? The OP already says he's seen the ones that say drill a 5mm hole like the ones you've just linked to. :p

Your point about them going in a 4mm hole though is useful though.

This :).

I saw those screwfix ones, but as stated it says 5mm drill hole. I'll just get them and shove them into a 4mm hole :p (which is what I was going to do anyway assuming I couldn't find smaller ones/get any better advice on here).

Cheers all :).

Or broke. :D

Years ago at work we had a cracking filler by Rawlplug for screws - trouble is it was asbestos based.

Just mix a little with water - roll around your hand till mixed and poke it in hole with the supplied poking stick with point on other end - - When hole is full just push point in for screw to start.

Very handy for over sized holes.

As above - yellow plugs

The own brand ones are 29p, so it's not the end of the world if they're too big :p

Even the rawlplug ones are only £1.49
