Hi guys, I have recently moved home and have been reduced to wireless so I grabbed one of these Asus cards for ac performance to soften the blow, only since I have been using the card, windows hasn't been stable, I'm getting random restarts and some strange issues, like I wont be able to click anything in the task bar, but right clicking will work. All since installing this card.

I tried the earliest driver that comes with the utility but that was so unstable no web pages would even load so I'm currently using the latest from the asus website which works well until I get the issues and / or my pc restarts itself.

Any ideas? I thought this was a premium product and I expected better from asus!!

I removed all overclocks and still the same, I'm currently using the original older driver that didn't work before but so far has been ok this time around, the product has been out long enough for a stable windows 10 driver, googling, it seems everyone is having issues with the card on windows 10 and I'm extremely disappointed in ASUS.

This is the card in question

Well, in case anybody decides to buy this card and has the same issue as me, installing driver version 2.0.8.8 worked after a couple of attempts. System has been stable for about a week now.

It was unstable at first install but seems to work after the third time of asking! Still a really poor show from asus though, are there any asus reps on the forum like there are with other companies? I wonder if this is an issue they have any intention of fixing?

tried to highlight the issue in a product review on ocuk but it didn't get published.

I installed this yesterday, no real issues(one user error by me with wrong security key entered in router on 5G).

I'm using the latest drivers from Asus website, ie ASUS PCE-AC68 Utility 2.1.1.5
EU SKU..

I never bother with the CD one , always out of date, for the record using Win10 Pro x64 and been gaming online last night and today with no issues.

Very impressed with mine, good wifi-fi range ,no lag or disconnects.

I forgot to say my PC is still overclocked as well.

On the drivers screen for that I noticed two different versions stating
a)It is only for EU sku
and the second version
b)It is for all sku except EU

It also states: Please note]This version is driver only. Before installing this version, please uninstall pervious PCE-AC68 utility

I wonder if that perhaps the problem?

Edit: latest version is 2.1.1.5 you are trying to use version 2.0.8.8

first version I tried was the latest version. PC would reboot, thats when I tried the older version as suggested elsewhere, it didnt work at first, went back to the newest, same problem, back again to the oldest, has been working ok since.

Elevon, mine started out working ok too, I wonder if you'll run into issues?

Nope, no issues, typing this post on the same hardware, was in five hours of online gaming session last night with no issues.
I checked in Device Manager all hardware reports working fine with no issues :) .

Did you do a clean install of the drivers ie remove old ones first and the utility then reboot before installing latest ones?
Basically latest version just has drivers only which is what I'm using without the utility, works great.

To make things more confusing there are two versions of drivers ie SKU EU and non EU version, I installed the latest EU version.

I do have Asus motherboard and modem/router so would expect them to all work together :) .

I'm using the TP-Link VR900 modem/router now with the Asus PCE-AC68, still no issues.

Maybe I'll give the driver another try, I'll report back if I do. making sure to restart after removing the old one. I'm loathed to give the system a fresh install when the older driver seems to work though.

I have issues too now, same card, on Win10 Home 64b.

I start to download something, and I get a bsod, after 3 minutes. I live in Europe outside of the EU but I am not sure what non-EU means With Asus, is it like the US and Australia or in fact countries not in the EU. I run the 2.1.1.4 driver, and my 5GHZ network is missing as well it seems. Got an Asus RT-AC68U router. I'm gonna try the 2.1.1.5 and then revert back to the old one before that. Will report.
