Boy, 11, guilty of murdering girl, 8, after she refused to let him see puppies

It's ridiculous to me that an 11 year old was even trained in "firearm safety". America is a messed up country that's for sure...

I signed up at a club to shoot air weapons before that age, nothing wrong with it.

10 year olds are too young to have sex, so presumably you're against teaching them about that until 16 too?

Air Weapons and real weapons are two different beasts - but I guess I'm a little naive, I've never had the interest in any guns or the sort and don't understand the obsessive nature of some American gun owners.

Where did that comparison come from?! Comparing the teaching of safe sex to safe gun ownership xD

I guess what I was getting at is I don't understand why 11 year olds are even involved with live guns - but it's the American culture now.

Well I presume you are against teaching safety when the activity involved is deemed too young for the individual.

I'm not saying a Glock is the same as a penis, but the dangers and safety handling of both can still be taught to youngsters.

Point being, you're not too young to learn about firearm safety in a country with 300 million firearms.

Oh really!

Tell you what, you stand up against the wall and I will shoot you in the head with a Webley Patriot :p

(Incidentally, I remember reading some years ago that there were Air-gun snipers at the battle of Waterloo! They were fearsome weapons not least because they were essentially silent and produced no smoke so the people who came under fire from them had no idea where the shots were coming from)
