Hi,
I have a rift pre-ordered and so it is upgrade time again. Been out of the scene for a while so would appreciate comments on the below build. I will be overclocking and will be using it for all sorts of games, e.g. Witcher 3, Elite dangerous etc. I already have a keyboard and mouse etc.

Thanks in advance.

For god's sake please just wait. 14/16nm cards probably 6 months away, undoubtedly going to have a significant performance jump - but also more information on VR performance will be available to make an informed decision on which cards will meet your requirements. I'd hate to see you spend over £1.1k on GPUs to find it doesn't perform how you want D:

When's your Rift supposed to arrive? Would it hurt to wait? :P

I should be in the first batch of Rifts so possibly beginning of April.
If there was a release date for the new cards I would wait however without firm dates or even prices I figured I would go ahead now and then if affordable, better cards are released later in the year, I can see these on.

Fair enough, if you can't wait :)
I sold one of my Furys in prep for new cards this year. A single card is more than enough for my 1440 Ultrawide and should be at least adequate for VR - but I'm almost definitely upgrading when the new cards come.

I'd recommend dropping the SLi at least. a) I don't think SLi works for VR yet (though I can't confirm where I read that). b) multi-card is a hassle anyway. c) A single Ti is enough to push at LEAST 70fps on your 1440UW and should be at least enough to tide you over on VR until summer

That's just my opinion though ;p
Also, you may want to consider getting some quad channel ram - it supports it, seems a waste not to utilise it, especially with how much you're already paying. It makes very little difference though, but more speed is more speed :p

Good points. I must admit I am in two minds about SLI. I have always avoided it in the past due to the cost vs lack of support in games / driver issues. On the other hand, my company will be paying for the build hence I am going all out.

I will check the ram....

Oh, if it's not your money go all out. :D 4 way TitanX, 5860X, 64GB ram, Cosmos II case, 1300w superflower leadex etc :P

Looks good but btw the 3200mhz ram will make no difference compared slower mhz ram all the ddr4 is more than fast enough if you can get 32 gb slower ram for near the same price it would be a better investment.
