I was invited to visit Alphacool, and whilst I was in Germany managed to visit a few other companies that sponsor me too! I would post all the experiences here, but they are already on my blog so I will post a link to that instead.

If you have any questions about anything from these 3 companies, let me know and I will ask, I wanna do a Q+A type post from them soon also :)

No promotion of business interests

You may not promote any website or business you have a financial or other interest in, or use the popularity of this community to help build one of your own. The forums are here to allow people to freely share knowledge, not provide them with personal financial gain, or free advertising.

Cheers hall monitor.

And that is how it should be... My website has no advertising, doesn't earn me anything, I don't sell anything and due to this doesn't fall into any of the categories you posted.... It is basically stuff I usually post here (builds and end user reviews) its just with my trips to different companies it is a lot of work to do all the pictures again so that I can use them on forums (as im not allowed to hot link)

If mods deem it in appropriate to post something that has more links to OcUK than any other of my sponsors (because ocuk have sent me stuff recently and it is a newish site) then that is fine, but I have said to post here for any questions so that I do indeed keep the community here alive... There is no forum on my site so....

Well, the Rules say no promotion of any website or business you have a financial or other interest in.

He is being sponsored as he quite clearly states and therefore has a financial or other interest in.

I didn't make the Rules.

People post links to their blogs here all the time and I don't see an issue with it. Its topical to this forum and entertaining to read.

I get no financial gain from my sponsors, of course i have an interest in it.... but that would mean no one would be able to post any website because they have an interest in that also...

Well had he not mentioned he was Sponsored by the Companies he is Promoting there would have been no issues, but he is clearly in breach of the Rules, he is Sponsored for Publicity, he is Publicising his Website which he has a vested interest in. Seems pretty clear cut to me.

just... lol. i gain more interest in the same companies on this very forum where i post the build logs... i have the same logos here as I do there, except some of my build logs have 40k views and my site gets about 50 lol ...if i earned anything from my website I would agree entirely, but I don't, I earn 0 from it and don't intend to make it earn money for me, certainly not for a long time as I am far too busy to do much with it. The only people who will read it are those who know me from forums and such so are the same ones who have read my build logs who know who I am sponsored by.

and thanks for those who have had a quick look to see what i got up to :)

Really? Don't you have spar bags to be monitoring?

Davido - I like your stuff. I've seen a thread or two of yours and your work is always to a very high standard, you can be proud. I had a quick look around and you say you were featured in CustomPC. That alone is impressive. Keep up the good work!

I want the best PC in THE WOLRD. Will you build it for me :)

If you buy all the bits when I'm free I could put it together happily haha (although me having some free time is not often), I wouldn't be able to charge of course, because then I would be financially gaining and doofer would blow a gasket.

Thanks man, appreciated :D and yeah, I have been in CustomPC a couple of times now actually, one was a full feature, one was just a quick "nod" at one of my builds and one was a little bit of info about a case and they used my pictures. I should be in again soon as I am doing a build competition for bit-tech soon (which i definitely won't be posting here as it is sponsored by a competitor) unless I edit the pictures to remove any logos - i will have to see :)

The attention to detail on your builds is immense.

My question about your visits. Did you find out anything you didn't really know or surprised you?

yes lots of things actually, like how Alphacool measure GPU's for their waterblocks, they have a machine with a very fine needle which "scans" the card physically, so it touches every part of it to make a complete 3D image, they then 3d print a block to check if it all fits correctly, then take it to manufacturing.

I also saw a lot of products that are due for release over the next year, I am not allowed to talk about them obviously, but there are some very exciting things coming. I am hoping I can get them first!

good lord, i don't know if my liver would be able to take it!
