it's any wonder why you would bother leaving the house when they're all outside. They're to dumb to come get you if your quiet. Who in the tiny little mind would cover yourself in guts and try to walk through them. It down right idiotic, aka Rick. ""Hey everyone lets go in a convoy of death rather than one of use making a diversions so you can escape"" ""Good plan Rick good plan""
One of the best episodes of the show there I thought. From the RPG road clearing to the edge of your seat tension. Loved when everyone rallied out side and started fighting, it was awesome. Though I did expect someone to die in that part!
Although...how do you survive being shot in the eye? Surely the bullet just keeps on going and out the back of your head :O
I'd assumed it was meant to have hit him as he turned and therefore effectively just hit the surface as it passed. A deep flesh wound, but when it's your eye it's pretty nasty.

I don't know if it's budget, lighting or grading but something was off in all the in-town scenes this episode - all main characters had different light/tinge to the zombies and all those scenes looked like an old ropey green screen...
still have a love/hate thing with this show though - they repeatedly seem to do really silly things and don't seem to be able to plan anything particularly well... still that pretty much has to occur in order to be able to drag out the show over so many seasons
I mean having an escape route/additional exit(s) and having some additional wall barrier (doesn't have to be a second external one but even simply a way of breaking, at least in half, the interior so that one breach in the walls doesn't mean the whole place is now compromised... It isn't like these zombies are quick or smart either... having a couple of fortified safe houses to fall back into complete with supplies and distractions/flares etc.. and keeping a couple of fueled up vehicles in the garages would also be pretty useful

I have to agree, this ep was excellent. The show goes through peaks and troughs and the toughs seem to last for a while and you can easily see why people get disinterested.
This episode was probably the best of the show. It was like they had a box that they decided to cram everything in.. and then stomped more in with the boots...
Definitely the best episode of the series, eclipsing the first one. I'm going to try remain optimistic that the next 7 will all be as intense but I know what the series are like with the action/filler/filler/filler/action etc.
The trailer for the next episode looked a bit back to basics with Rick and Darryl on 'a run' which is what the show has done well before.
Anyone else thinking when Negan turns up (no doubt the last scene of the last episode) that will *genuine comic related spoiler*
result in the end for Glen based on the line with Abraham and Sasha - 'We usually start off by popping one of you straight of the bat'
Hopefully a lot more to come. Anyone think that is the end of the 'Wolves'? or will they make the bulk of the story for the next 3 episodes?
Ok going to talk a bit about the scene with Jessie & Sam from the comic. Dont read if you haven't seen it yet.
in the original scene it a lot more brutal and graphic.
Sam panics and shouts for his mother. He draws attention and gets attacked. Jessie screams and tries to tug Sam away. Screaming for Rick she also get overwhelmed but doesn't let Carl go. While she gets eaten alive she still screaming for Rick for Help!! Instead of helping Rick immediately hacks at her arm to free Carl. She screeching in pain and continous to scream for Rick as she gets devoured.
The biggest difference is Rick doesn't hesitate nor does he wait until she dies. He is sorry but doesn't look back. You can call him callous but he accepts very quickly this is the reality in the new world.

Rick is always going to put Coral above everyone including Judith.
I've read quite a lot of negativity today about last nights episode and I can understand the point of view with the Sam & Jessie scene as every other 'similar' incident has been kept off the screen like Lizzie, Carol's daughter etc.
Also reading the quote from Andrew Lincoln reference the last episode of the series “I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working on The Walking Dead that I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was so angry and frustrated and I felt sick. And that was just after reading it.” would indicate that there is something more shocking and possibly needless dependant on your view point coming at the end of the season.
[Hearing] the word ‘finale’ gives me a physical reaction because it’s the hardest day on set that I’ve ever had in my life,” says Lauren Cohan (Maggie) with a sigh. “I never even imagined that as an actor you could have that experience. It’s one of the most raw experiences that I think any of us have ever had. Andy talks about being late to work; I didn’t want to go to work that day. It took a really, really long time for everybody to feel okay again after the finale, let’s put it that way.”
Both were in interviews to Entertainment Weekly recently, I can hazard a guess what this probably means and who it involves ****Genuine Comic Spoiler****
Considering Judith never made it this far and died with Lori ages ago. I can somehow see this involving Negan and an onscreen baby death. That would definitely be pushing the boundary for some viewers I suspect.
Edit: Am I the only one in thinking that would have made a perfect mid season finale as opposed to mid season premiere? Tied up the story to that point quite well in terms of character deaths and story arcs Morgan/Carol etc.
Loved the episode, watched the trailer for episode 10 if its following the comic
looks like we will meet the hilltop community and one of the best chars Jesus should arrive on the scene, maybe he will get off with Ethan
They are bound to have a few quieter episodes this season but i expect Negan's on screen appearance in the finale will have some major impact DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT SOME SPECULATION
The good money is on Negan killing Daryl in the last episode. Revenge for the RPG attack on his men, a lot of pre 2nd half interviews with Norman Reedus had him referring to daryl in the past tense, and Andrew Lincoln came out in an interview with a bit of a gaffe referring to Norman not being happy about the decision. The thought is that daryl will also figure heavily in the remaining episodes knowing its gonna lead upto his send off.
My guess is Dwight will take over in Daryls shoes, they have so much in common, both use crossbow etc.
I also dont think they will kill off Glenn given that we had his fake death earlier in the season when Nicholas died. Whats the odds on a POV shot of Negan swinging the bat and a few chars that could potentially die then leaving us on a big cliffhanger?
An absolutely fantastic episode of television. There is no way they will peak that high this season when it comes to pure action and tension. Maybe the finale will get close, as i'm pretty sure we all know who's going to make an appearance.

Whilst I agree with your spoiler speculation I sincerely hope it's wrong. Probably the only character I would be genuinely miffed at if they were killed off. Though it could explain Lincoln's quotes in EW. Although in the comics though I thought it was the second person you mentioned (which would also fit in with Lincoln's quote) ****Comic/Speculation spoiler****
as doesn't Glenn die at the hands of Rick and Negan using Lucille?
Also I forgot about Jesus, maybe there will be a story arc that involves the wolves, I can't see that last episode being the end of them
