Forgive me mighty OcUK motors for I have sinned

My father test drove one a few years ago, it is a wonderfully comfortable in my opinion, and ridiculous acceleration too. Whilst the boot space isn't massive, it's more than good enough - but then again I'm not drawn to big boots :p

Look forward to seeing it some time! :)

do you hear the engine much on acceleration?

One thing I found amusing on the GS430 was under hard acceleration you could just about hear a that delightful V8 sound somewhere a few miles ahead of the cockpit :).

It really depends on how you accelerate, around town it's often hard to tell whether the engine is running or not though I am getting used to feeling rather than hearing a slight rumble. Under moderate to hard acceleration the engine is certainly vocal as it just sits at mid to high revs and lets the gearbox handle the acceleration, having said that it's not what I'd call intrusive as you can't accelerate for very long without finding yourself heading towards the car in front at an alarming rate.

Well after 3 years and 8 days of ownership covering 45130 miles I dropped the car off at its new owner this morning on the way to collect its replacement.

Ownership hasn't been trouble free but has been hassle free thanks to extended Lexus Warranty and the frankly amazing dealerships who have Customer Service nailed (BMW, Audi, Mercedes take note!).

I had planned on just part exchanging but a member on here has clearly been stalking me ;) and got in touch so I'm very happy that its off to a good home with a new owner who will appreciate the car.

My 3 year impressions are, fast (in a straight line), extremely comfortable, amazing stereo and very smooth to drive. Great waft mobile and at £5-6k for an early one with a few miles on the clock (that it will hide easily) fantastic value for money IMO.

What problems did you encounter with it? I'd love one but would be frightened of any potential big bills.

Water pump and two air shock absorbers were the big ones, Lexus offers a 2 year warranty on cars up to 10 years old/140 000 miles for £1000 which you'd be mad to run one without at that price, warranty even covered a new exhaust (rusted, £800) as it would have been an MOT failure.

That's quite a generous range to cover; 140k miles!
Any idea what you averaged in fuel? Most of my driving is A and B roads. My 330d Auto averages around 37mpg.
Edit - just seen your fuelly. Not great.

I wouldn't call 31mpg average for a 345bhp, 2 ton car not great myself.

Clicked on the second image first and wondered Wtf it was. Had to click on the rest to confirm. Not my cup of tea but was surprised for what you can get for 10k.

The comments are more than justified though.

and they never get better over time...

^ They still aren't great.

Weird how upon your first purchase you yawned at the sight of a 5 series, but not the GS :p
