Hello,

I'm looking to get back into PC Gaming. I've built a few gaming spec computers in the past, but coming back to it now I feel very out of the loop.

Not sure what the best components to go for.

I've got all the peripherals I need. Monitors etc.

I was wondering if anyone could help?

I'd like to build it myself so I'd like to avoid the pre-built systems.

I've also got a Corsair liquid cooler on my old system, which I'd happily use if it'd save costs for other components.

I'd also prefer intel over AMD. And Nvdia GPU if possible.
Any help is much appreciated.

What do you have right now? It may be that all you need to do is add a GPU.

All the components are about 3 years old.

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail

Gigabyte Z77N-WIFI Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard

Corsair Hydro H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket 775 1155 1156 1366 2011 AM2 AM3) (CWCH100)

Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-14900C10 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit (PVI316G186C0K)

BitFenix Prodigy 'Yin' Mini-ITX Cube Case - WhiteBlack

XFX 850W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply

Just a new gpu and ssd if you haven't got one. I wouldn't be replacing a 3570k for a good while yet. If it's not already overclocked then doing so will give you some more performance.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £599.57
(includes shipping: £11.70)

These are the upgrades I'm considering. The RAM from my old system is in use, so I need to get some more.

You'll easily get it to 4.0GHz on stock volts....
You saying that cos of the 'k' chip, or from experience with the same setup?
Not arguing with you bud, but remember he's on m-itx rig with much more restricted airflow than m-atx or atx.
Overclocking may not be much of an option.

just sayin' :)
