Dinosaurs Vs Endagererd species?

So,

How would you explain to a very intelligent and perceptive (IE NO ******** whatsobloodyever) 8 year old why..?

A game that involves hunting and killing Dinosaurs is OK, but one that involves hunting and killing, Lions, Leopards, Elephants, ETC is not??

Had this earlier today to deal with, I "think" I might have made a reasonable answer. But.... :/ !
 
Am I missing something? What's wrong with the latter? I've enjoyed Far Cry 3 and 4 which has exactly that as a feature?
 
Why not? I've killed dozens of animals for little/no reason in Far Cry.

Also, tell your 8 year old Dinosaurs still exist (birds).

(He is also not "My" 8 year old, he is my nephew.)

If the op is talking about an 8 year old infact playing Far Cry 3 or 4 I would not be questioning him as to why hes killing animals i would ask him directly how he enjoyed the torture / sexual scenes in the game. Hell just take him to see Deadpool while your at it....
 
The where no humans around when the Dinosaurs were around, so its a bit of a mute question. :confused:
Answer is....

If we where around then? Yes we would shoot them in the face until they became endangered. :eek:

Only then would we care about saving them. :D

No, Not "Far Cry"

Some sort of "Dino hunting" game.

Off hand do not know which one!
 
Just set him up as Trevor on GTA V. There are animals so tell him to leave them alone. Mainly you want to be targeting authorities like the police.

a) I don't have an issue with either, so point b is entirely hypothetical to me. b) The difference (if there is one) is that dinosaurs are already extinct so no additional damage can be done by teaching people that it's OK to hunt them, whereas showing people that it's OK to hunt endangered species is risky (apparently...)
 
I'd make sure he fundamentally understood that video games aren't real life, then I wouldn't have a problem with him playing a game that involves shooting animals.
