Had a great crack in the DZ this evening with my 4 man squad. We were in the roof top extraction point with another 4 man squad and one guy trolling all of us by just shooting you once to try and bait you into turning rogue. This went on for some time and we started talking of forming an alliance with the other team that if someone would take this guy out then no one would take out the rogue team. Well, no one wanted to take the first shot for fear of reprisals and all the time these discussions are going on more and more people are turning up, not calling in an extraction and joining in the voice comms about this guy, who is now baiting nearly 15 people!

Things feel very tense and all of a sudden a sticky bomb goes off and all hell breaks loose! :D

Great fun!

By the way, thanks to the 3 guys who spent all day grinding with me so I could buy a Legendary weapon! :)

Hope too team up with you in the full game Muska :) Enjoyed the DZ loads ( Jsturgess )

Sadly the hacks are already out for this.

Firing through walls whilst climbing ladders. Won't be buying anymore :(.

As far as I can tell there's no anti cheat server or client side.

Bans have been manual so far and from what I can tell through video evidence.
They will have a proper system in place for release but their inability to solve the client side mess means it won't be a preorder or day one purchase. I will see how this issue evolves or is resolved after release.

I really hope so Twirly, this would be an all time killer to be fair. Will have to monitor how it is in the final game, if they've not introduced some sort of decent anti-cheat and moved all the player data server side, this could be hackers heaven and that means I'm most definitely out.

They we're out in closed beta also, they've left the anti cheat off to see which hacks people are using to ban them at launch.

At the moment if you kill someone that shot you first you get rogue and hunted down.

Is this actually how it works? Someone kills you they go red, you kill them in self defence, you go red?

So you cannot defend yourself against being shot at in pvp?
Should it not be, attacking another player flags you for pvp, if they don't fight back and you kill them, you go red, if they do and you lose, they don't go red from self defence.

Better system no?

I don't know if that's how it works but its how it seems to work so far lol.

Had one guy following me shooting me without going rogue knocking chunks of my health off I turn and kill him then I'm painted as rogue :D.

Also noticed a few people purposefully running in front of you shooting at NPCs to give you rogue and subsequently kill you for the credits.

The "hacks" are all just rewriting variables in the client. Can't ban those without changing how the game handles things like ammo count, health and speed.

I wasn't in closed beta so didnt know.

Yeah they've been doing that in rainbow six as well despite having fairfight. Doesn't seem to have affected the amount of cheaters though :(.

It's a shame as I was actually having loads of fun up until that point.

Just make the game detect the cheatengine.exe app and if found flag, that will stop most amateur hackers.

Enjoyed the beta but will purchase when about the £20 mark as not an essential purchase for me, unless I can use a virtual credit card for the Brazilian/Argentinean version.

Really like this game.

Seen enough to get it, looks ideal for me and my mate to co-op story, dark zone will be interesting too.

Graphics/Sound better then I thought, it looks really good with excellent sound effects.

Acting seems good, will see how the story develops, once I get the full game.

Likewise.

One reason why I won't be pre-ordering

No, you only go red if you shoot a non-rouge, not a rouge.

If you go rouge by mistake, there is a timer before you become a friendly again.

But it's not possible to defend yourself against an aggressor, you just have to "stand and die" if you fight back and win, then you go rogue instead.
Least that's how i'm seeing it, maybe I have it wrong.

Does any shot count? Ie is the a minimum damage before you get flagged?

The guy who was shooting me didnt have rogue status, it was only when I actually killed him that I got rogue .

dont let yourselves into provocation - thats exactly what shooter wants,he just using pistol as a bite,i did this to many :D return fire with pistol as well as defence,99% will leave you alone,if not - you will kill rouge

You can kill a rouge(the whole point of the PvP) and keep your friendly status, you sure you didn't kill a friendly?

That is not right, if it's the case then it's a major bug.Never been in that situation, but closed beta(watched a stream) seems to of suggested, if they fire first(and hit) then they instantly turn rouge.

nope they changed it. Now you can shoot a friendly a small amount without going rogue.

they will get a red marker above their head but its not the skull. This is to show they may be a possible threat.

If they cause further damage they go rogue, which places a skull and timer above their head.

A lot of trolling has been going on. Basically players will shoot other players for a small amount hoping that they return fire and do to much damage and end up going rogue.

I'm just not used to this method of pvp "flagging"
There can be no consensual 1v1 gun fights using the current method.

The "winner" is awarded with rogue status.

Rogue status should come from "murder" not self defence.

As it is now, Shoot me in the back of the head, you go red. Shoot me in the leg and I turn round and shoot you in the head, I go red.

I should beable to kill someone who is taking pot shots with no repercussions.
I understand you can kill a rogue and stay white, but if a white is attacking you, you can't kill him without going rogue yourself.

Anyone played Lineage 2? Thats the pvp method thats ingrained in my brain, the way the division does it was just weird to behold.

Regarding cheating:

The beta build is an old build, with little or no anti-cheat, and is used to root out these sorts of bugs and exploits. Upon launch, there will be anti-cheating measures in place and the devs will be monitoring and collecting stats (for instance, they know how many Cleaners were killed with shotguns, so you can be pretty sure they know who's up to no good).

It's silly to think they won't have addressed the issue or don't care about it - of course they do. Games live and die on how well their cheat prevention and detection works. No-one wants their fun ruined by idiots.
