**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

Just pulled the trigger on a silver 32GB :) Currently a Nexus 6 64GB owner which I've had since release. Kinda had enough of it now, it's just that little bit too big for me. The 6P looks like a nice improvement. Decided not to go with the 64GB as I don't really store much on my phone, currently using less than 6GB on my N6!

It's supposed to be arriving tomorrow. I've ordered a Spigen Rugged Armor case, plus an Orzly screen protector, both of which I have on my N6 and like them.

Nice. I made the switch and this is a better device all round. You won't be disappointed

One thing that I have noticed with the Nexus 6P is that it takes longer to get an active packet data connection compared to my Nexus 5/4 or any other Android handset I have used.

Since I spend a lot of time travelling on the train where I am going in and out of coverage, it has been noticeable since day 1. When I get coverage, I can call and SMS without any issue, but I cannot do anything that requires data. The following symbol remains on-screen for about 20-30 seconds in some cases:

before working without any issue. The issue doesn't occur if I put my SIM in another phone. So my basic troubleshooting points towards a handset issue, however to me this sounds more like a software related problem.

I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same?

I'm currently with Three and the same applies whether I use the three.co.uk or 3internet APN.

I get similar and have an inkling it might be to do with three not supporting the phone officially.

I had a look here > http://support.three.co.uk/SRVS/CGI...t=payasyougo,varset_subcat=4125,Case=obj(4091)

And checking the settings just now I didn't have "internet" under APN type (just default, supl, mms) So I've just added internet, but don't know if this will a difference yet.

I can't get the URL to work, however I've added ",internet" on to the end of my APN to see how it compares. I'm currently on a three hour train journey, so plenty of time to test it out. I'll report back with comments.

No worries, would be interested. Don't know why the three website makes it such an unfriendly link for their support page.

I travel a fair bit same route and noticed only a positive improvement over my last few devices on signal and recovering for zero signal zones.

Just over two hours into my train journey and it looks like adding ,internet at the end of the APN type has resolved this issue for me using the three.co.uk APN.

I'll need to test adding this to the 3internet APN in the future, but thanks very much for this advice. It has really made such a difference!

Wahey! that's encouraging! I'll leave it on mine as well and see how it goes. Glad to hear its helped.

Got mine today. As said upgraded from the Nexus 6, absolutely thrilled with it. Feels so much nicer to hold, the haptic feedback somehow makes the phone feel a lot more solid.

I'm also on three so added the internet to my APN, can't hurt!

Also having the two phones together, I have noticed the 6p screen is a LOT nicer. Really very pleased with it.

Looking at an identical web page on full brightness, I found the 6p had much better whites, the 6 is actually quite grey in comparison. Just looks a lot more vibrant in general.

Fair do's.

I did notice my screen was rather warm in tone. I'm on a custom rom and kernel so easily adjusted.

I've had the media devil matte screen protector on this phone for about a month now and it is still holding up, would highly recommend it!

As a side note, I've jumped on the "get rid of facebook" bandwagon and have noticed my phone performing /much/ better. I've opted for Metal instead which is pretty good, it can push notifications as well optionally and doesn't have a million and one permissions to use it. Using it for messenger is a bit of a pain though but I can live with it.

I've had my new silver 64Gb Nexus 6P for about a week now and am really loving it. It's a big upgrade from my old HTC One M8 and I'm still getting my head around the fact that it's much bigger and yet lighter in the hand than the M8 - what sort of trickery is that?! The screen, speakers and build quality is outstanding - and special mention has to go to the camera as it's absolutely amazing!

A word of warning for anyone looking to upgrade to the Nexus 6P if they're in a contract with EE is that they do not offer it in anything other than the black 32Gb variant. They offered me an early upgrade over the phone and I specifically said (more than once) that I wanted the 64Gb version, and since they said 'yeah, ok that's fine' I had no reason to worry. What arrived in the post though? The black 32Gb variant. It was only then that I looked on the EE store and discovered why. After much gnashing of teeth and many conversations with airheaded EE callcentre staff (with me repeatedly and correctly saying that the mis-sold me the phone) I decided to look elsewhere and got a cracking deal with o2

Just ordered a 6P to upgrade my One M8. Toyed with the idea of getting the S7 but I just can't get along with Touchwiz!

What are people's thoughts on the Office 6P case?

I thought about the S7 too, but I like the nexus experience too much, plus the S7 looks like it's going to be hella expensive in comparison too.

I have put my screen on the sRGB mode too and I find the colours perfectly fine.

My first full day with the phone, really liking it. Still having to get used to using the fingerprint sensor though. And I think I'm going to need to root it as I miss the double tap to wake feature I had on my nexus 6.

sRGB all the way IMO.

Also I've had/used the Spigen Neo Hybrid, Rugged Armour and the Thin Fit, the latter is by far the best of the three. :)

..and heres me thinking of getting an S7 Edge, but as Benjo said, I'm not sure I could move away from stock Android to Touchwiz either.... Hmmmm.
