Flights, my head hurts...

Luckily that's in my favour but i'd be super annoyed if I lived in London and figured this out.

Surely if you live in London, you could still book the Edinburgh --> London --> final destination flight and just board in London?

I would be pleased to find this out, same flight, save money, and absolutely no difference to my journey :D

apparently there are all sorts of tricks to cheaper tickets, things like booking a longer flight w/ the place you want as a mid-stop and getting off there etc, but i haven't investigated them all.
one tip is to clear your cookies, apparently sites recognise you keep returnig and start putting prices up, presumably to get you to panic buy.

Interesting, I never knew that about the cookies. :(

Going to try when I home tonight. Just booked a break for the Mrs and I.

Manchester -> Heathrow -> Washington Dulles

New York JFK -> Manchester

As people have mentioned above it actually worked out cheaper to fly from MAN to LHR than to make our own way there. Sadly prices weren't the best as we're flying out in 4 weeks and just a week before Easter holidays, £600 per person, but we didn't have much choice with it being so close now and difficulties with fixed annual leave (thanks NHS) :(

Once you no show a flight the remaining flights in your itinerary are cancelled.
