I've just got a new hybrid card to use with the G1 gaming in SLI. Also a new motherboard, RAM and PSU (see signature).

When I boot up the pc and I use bios the CPU temperature is about 23C and the fans are generally not that loud.
Then I went into windows and launched MSI Afterburner to check on the GPU temps and the fans immediately kicked in from the afterburner profile and GPU 1 temp was 90C!
I immediately shutdown the pc and after letting it cool down I re-seated the two graphics cards and checked that the power connectors from the psu were plugged in properly.
I tried again and the temps for GPU1, which is the hybrid, were really high again with the fans on full blast. GPU2 temps were only 27C which increased to about 37C - fans 0%.
I tried the Hybrid on it's own and the temp was 50 straight away with the fan on high trying to keep at 60.
The back of the pc didn't feel that hot and I could feel cool air coming out of radiator exhaust.

I wonder if I have installed the radiator incorrectly or if there is an airflow problem because I have replaced the rear chassis exhaust fan with the radiator from the hybrid. The tubes going from the card to the radiator are a quite twisted which could be affecting the cooling.

I'd like to install the radiator above the HDD bays where the optical drives go but I don't know how to mount it. You can't do it with just the screws + washers provided.

I've got photos of the pc that I'd like to post on here. Can anyone recommend a good site to upload them to?

Photobucket is not a bad site to host pics on if you not on Flickr of something similar, did the card itself feel hot to the touch? (not forget anti static measures and to not burn yourself if you try this). Is the new card in the upper or Lowe spot?

imgur.com is the best site for picture hosting. It even gives you BBCode links and will resize them for you.

Here's a picture of the top of the chassis above the HDD bays where I'm considering mounting the radiator but I'm not sure how. Also a picture of showing 1 card installed and two cards installed.
The hybrid (new card) is in the top slot.
To install the hybrid you just mount the radiator and then install the card in the PCI-E slot like any other graphics card - is this correct or have I missed a step which could explain why the temps have been so high?

Not related to this but I have another problem. When I boot up there is a message saying CPU fan speed error which I think is related to the low power adapter on my Noctua NH-C cooler. I tried connecting the two fans separately without the adapter but I still got that message. The CPU temperature seemed fine in the bios though.

The card doesn't feel warm at all and its blowing out cold air. I can't tell if the coolant is moving. The hoses vibrated slightly but I'm not sure if that was from something else like the cpu fan vibrating. Should it be easy to tell?
Anyone know the typical idle temp for a hybrid?

Sounds like the heatsink is not properly in contact with the core if you are not getting ANY hot/warm air.

If this is the case should I rma it? I've only had it since Saturday. Could return it for any reason. I'd rather just have it working properly

Well it's either that or the pump isnt running. Even at idle I would expect temps of less than 90 Deg C, some cards run 0db at idle with the fans off which proves the heatsink is enough alone...I get the feeling something really critical is wrong.

You haven't mentioned how and where you have connected the pump. Sounds like the pump isn't running to me. I'd put money on it. What fan header on the motherboard have you connected the pump to??? You need to go into the bios and check that the header you are using is set up the appropriate way.

Whilst gaming at the weekend my hybrid card was at 43 degrees in game (The Division, beta) so there is something seriously wrong with your card for you to experience those temps. Either the waterblock isn't seated correctly or the pump isn't running. Time to RMA.

Run the pump off a molex to 3 or 4 pin convertor. That way its supplying 100% power to the pump. Some motherboard 3 or 4 pin connectors do not supply enough power to run the pump. Some are 7 or 5V not enough to run the pump at full speed.

Tip the case on its side, then boot it up - if you hear gurgles it could just be air in the pump. Won't help though if the heatsink isn't right sorry.

Is it safe to do this with the rest of the components? Can I tip it back up while its running?
I've cleaned out all the drivers and reinstalled them to make sure that the temps aren't being mis read some how. Still the same temps.

Its an AIO cooler with jusr a radiator and a pump? If so yes it's fine. If you are worried remember its just a guess for a quick fix, but I have seen it work before (first person not internet!)

ETA with AIO coolers you are able to move the case around including sideways to upright whilst running.

I was going to say, unless you're only running ssds with no moving parts, don't go throwing your pc around when it's on.

I didn't realise the off the shelf hybrid cards ran the fans, pump and everything from the card itself with a splitter. My 980ti hybrid is a diy version so I don't do it that way.

Given that, unless you fancy opening it up and checking the connections, I would say your card is most likely faulty and its rma time.
