Jeremy Clarkson

Heyyyy! Maybe I didn't delete all those soundboard files after all..

He stood right in-front of me for the international adverts, I was completely eclipsed. But I am immortalised in the intro to the Africa special where I feature heavily in my blue jacket on the right of the map.. :D

Just checked on Netflix. I concur with JC.

i wish they would stop showing ads for his 'new' show coming from amazon
they've been pedalling it since this happened and its not out until autumn this year i believe?

Which ads? I've only ever seen one, a still image with the three of them saying 'coming soon' that was on the Amazon website for a while and also appears briefly at the end of a Fire TV stick commercial as part of a punchline.

I would take a slap on the thigh for 1 billion dollar

He's whacked someone, got sacked from the BBC. Proceeded to get a 160million deal with Amazon for a new version of Top Gear.

Conclusion: Hitting people gets you a better deal.

Nothing is stopping you from becoming a motoring journalist and doing what he did, the reason he's earning so much money is because a lot of people find him entertaining.

He also isn't the first man to hit another man and not have his life ruined by it. Do you feel he should no longer have a career because of this?

There doesn't have to in order for there to be an investigation and prosecution.

But it does have to be in the public's interest and that doesn't mean that it will fill the pages of the gutter press. This quite rightly hasn't gone to court and has been dealt with to the satisfaction of all parties including the aggrieved. Seems like we should all be cheering a victory for common sense and the saving of public money!

Or

The man is a money making machine. Got to say, JC is probably the savviest presenter . . . . . . . . In The World!

Don't get me wrong, I find it funny and how it's all worked out! I think JC is the nuts personally and glad he and the other two will be back on our screens :D

Quite right, there doesn't have to be a wish by the victim for charges to be brought. The police in this case made that exact point, and indeed, still investigated.

But, if the victim is actively opposed to a prosecution, it's certainly going to make a successful one much harder. Having investigated, and specifically having received the views of the others present, that is, witnesses, they decided to not proceed. If neither victim nor witnesses consider a prosecution necessary, it's difficult to see how a prosecution, and the inherent costs, is in the public interest.

And that, of course, is entirely consistent with the result of thousands of minor brawls, pub fracas', etc, every year.

If every such act of stupidy were prosecuted, we'd need about twice as many courts.

I think he got a better deal because he's excellent at what he does. If he left without prior assaulting someone, he would still have got good deal, if not better.
