Hey guys,

I've checked and I can't see a problem but I would like some positive confirmation that I can indeed run the 980 Ti without issue with my current setup (680 to be replaced).

Case: Antec P280 Super Midi Tower Case (Do I have the space?)
PSU: Silverstone Strider Plus 750W Modular '80 Plus Silver' (Does this contain the required 8Pin? hard to check at the moment.)
Ram: 32GB
CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.20GHz (Sandybridge-E)
MB: Gigabyte X79-UP4 Intel X79

I run either 3 or 4 Monitor Setup (1980x1080 each).

If i missed any other important information please ask.

Thanks,

Jamie

A nice standard overclocked 980Ti will ****ing DESTROY your current 680 man. Nirvana on Earth ;)

Welcome to the (current) PC Heaven :D

Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't intending to overclock since I'm lazy but maybe I'll do it if I can find a real easy guide without any worries to stability issues.

Just crank the core clock up in afterburner by 10% then select afterburner to start with windows. Its that easy. Should be stable at that clock.

Thats the simplest method, but there is much more to it than that.

Is that likely to have any detriment to the GPU's lifespan? I've never clocked mine and it runs all my games fine as it is. But it's nice to know I have a bit of scope if I do ever run into a lack of performance.

It'll have no effect whatsoever on lifespan unless you increase voltage, and there's no reason to do so with Maxwell unless you're pushing the extremes.

even increasing the voltage wont effect it that much, nvidia designed the card with the higher voltage in mind.

Because you are not increasing voltage any effect on lifespan will be negligible. I always overclock by about 10-15%. Never had a problem, and everything still runs cool and quiet
