Hi

I'm due a new company car in the next few weeks and I've got the choice of 3 cars. It has to be automatic gearbox for medical reasons. My options are

Seat Leon 1.2 TSI SE with Technology Pack
Ford Focus Titanium 1.5T EcoBoost 150PS with Sat Nav option
Vauxhall Astra SRi Nav 1.4i 150PS Turbo

Anyone own one of these that could sway my decision? I haven't test driven any of them yet so any pointers would be appreciated. I mainly do shortish journeys so no long motorway miles.

Cheers

Whilst I much prefer the Leon as a place to sit, I couldn't ignore the almost 50hp advantage the Focus holds, 105bhp will drive you mad if you like driving at anything more than 'as slow as possible' :p

Agreed completely, the Leon is a nicer car all in all but the Titanium is much better specced and faster

The Ford autos are dual clutch systems. No idea about reliability, but my Dad has a Focus 1.6 auto and it is a very smooth shift.
The only thing I noticed is it seems to do a lot of changing, but I think I might be hearing the dual clutches engaging.

The focus interior is nothing like as well rounded as the Leon's but I'd agree with the above it's the most rationnal choice for anyone that has an interest in occasionally putting the foot down.

As above they're dual clutch and pretty good - though the last one I had got itself a bit confused at low speed/roundabout type situations, you soon learn to adapt to it.

Why?

The Focus is getting on a bit and the Astra is a brand new totally fresh model and more modern inside..

The Astra may be a newer model but the interior certainly isn't anything spectacular enough to warrant over the Focus.

Yeh Astra = new tech that will probably break after a week if it's like half the silly things that seem to go faulty on Vauxhalls that don't on other cars.
Focus is the best option out of the bunch with the extra power.

Really? Why would stuff break after a week? That statement has no fact you could quite easily say the same about the Focus. There both in the same class of cheapness.
