New Bugatti Chiron revealed: 1480bhp, €2.4m, limited to 261mph

I think it looks epic and it's actually got 1480 proper bhp not 1480bhp* *but only 600bhp when the battery isn't charged, like most of these other crappy prius hypercars

Absolutely amazing this thing... Agree with the comment above, you can't love cars and not be slightly turned on by the Chiron

Utterly fantastic. A technological tour de force.
I really thought we had reached the limit of what someone would sensibly put in a road car with the original Veyron, but they just keep going.

I'm sure someone in the EU will start stroking their beard and thinking about power limits. Until then, it's the new poster-child for the next generation.

Yeh, you couldn't pay me to drive one of those crappy McLaren P1s or Ferrari FXXs.

Anyway... I always respected the Veyron but never loved it. I think this one will be the same. It looks cool, goes so fast that it'd rip your face off and must have encountered so many engineering challenges which were solved by exotic materials and ingenuity, but as a complete package, I'd prefer something else.

It is a very exciting car though.

Interesting car but like the original it doesn't really excite me. It doesn't even stand out above the crowd like the original did.
The old Veyron Supersport has a higher topspeed, the new Koenigsegg Regera accelerates significantly quicker, if you wanted insane track performance you'd take a McLaren P1/LaFerrari and imo the Pagani Huayra is much more exciting if you just want pure flamboyance.

I look forward to seeing it on TopGear etc though!

I thought VW were losing money on every Veyron sold. Seems odd to bring out new models, unless they've managed to reduce production costs.
