New Bugatti Chiron revealed: 1480bhp, €2.4m, limited to 261mph

I thought VW were losing money on every Veyron sold. Seems odd to bring out new models, unless they've managed to reduce production costs.

Bugatti has never been a money making exercise for VW. It is about showing people what they can do. :)

I suspect they are losing money on each one of these as well.

look at how much of the Chiron is improving on technology they learnt first on the veyron.

The engine for example is just a further development of the same example. I imagine now that the R&D costs have been re-couped from the original, its probably not as loss making as people think. Plus I bet those limited run specials they made so many of earned a few pennies.

For me this is still the ultimate. I never warmed to the looks, but as an old school engineering exercise it is peerless in my book.

They will turn over €1200m on the sale of the 500 cars before options so they will likely recoup a fair bit of the development cost.

Wasn't much a fan of the original car's looks but this is way better! Really aggressive looking where it looks more squat than turtle shell this time around.

Front really looks fantastic, reminds me of a Warhammer space marine

For those pretending they don't know what I'm talking about :p

If by similar you mean, goes fast, has four wheels.. not seeing it myself.

Curved bonnet, front lights, air vents behind front door, interior etc

I guess you could say some of these similarities exist in other cars too, but then where's the uniqueness? Can't say I like modern interiors at all design wise.

So am I the only one that really likes this, yes it has some of the old Veyron characteristics but the designers in my opinion have really improved on it's overall impact, the view of the car from the back especially looks stunning.
