I haven't updated this to include my S4 Mini, Lenovo Vibe Shot and current One Plus X.

Of that lot, I'd probably say the Xperia X1 was the worst (even though it was awesome in theory).

Also forgot how great the HTC S710 was, tiny with a full qwerty keyboard running WM made instant messaging a dream :D

Toss-up between the Nokia 8210, Nokia N95 8GB and iPhone 4S.

The Nokia N95 8GB probably wins on features for its time.

Going to go against the grain here.

HTC M8.

Barring the camera it was the best all round mobile phone I've ever used, battery life, signal quality, screen, build, sound, software all first rate.

Probably the HTC HD2 for me. Simply because of the unbelievable dev community it had, in fact I think I saw theres a marshmallow rom out the other day!

I've seen the 3210 Nokia era onwards, but my favourite phones are both modern Android phones - first is the Nexus 5, closely followed by the Galaxy S2.

Favourite hardware is the HTC Touch Pro, but it was horribly let down by the software.

X1 suffered due to the lack of any real app ecosystem but then it was miles ahead of its time in a way - UI/software wise was pretty dire out the box but for people like me who like to tinker it was pretty decent once stripped back to "bare metal" and customised from the ground up.

I struggled to get on with the resistive screen, as I did with the Touch Pro2. It was acceptable on my older HTC smartphones, but just didn't gel with the newer, fancier models. The capacitive screen of my HD2 was a revelation.

Still, the X1 was sexy as all hell.

I even did a little video of the PointUI

Currently rocking the iPhone 6s Plus which seems to be the best phone for me at the moment.

Nokia n95 I probably had for the longest time, I've still got shots I took from that camera and they hold up pretty well even today.

Honourable mention has to go to the original iPhone, for showing the world that touch screens didn't have to suck, multitouch was brilliant and onscreen keyboards were the future.

Best non-smart phone was the Nokia 6300 (still have it as an emergency phone). Used it as an MP3 player mainly, due to microSD card slot. Very durable and had best part of 5+ days charge (oh the days!!)

Best smartphone is a tough one as I'm a big fan of the MotoG series (1st and 3rd Gen) but for sheer size and performance I would say the Sony Xperia X10 mini. Was absolutely fantastic to have a fully functional phone with such a small size. Shame they don't make them that size as it just worked and did what it did very well.

Ah never used PointUI myself or any of the panels stuff. IIRC I calibrated the touchscreen through the hidden service menu and never really had any problems after that though I did use the stylus a lot.
