OH YES! Me first! Ok, so when is gonna be the EXACT release date on those Bristol Ridge APUs and Polaris GPUs?

June 2, 1997.

Well not 1997, but June 2 is when Computex will be held, and he stated many times that Polaris comes mid year:

"We will discuss specific SKUs and form factors when Polaris launches mid-year."

Every node has its little foibles, but I am not quite in a position where I can disclose the level of information you’re probably looking for. I like keeping my job. However, we know that people are very interested in the process tech and we intend to publish a lot more information on the architecture and the process before Polaris parts arrive mid-2016

Question: Are we going to see any rebrands this year or will everything be a fresh baseline with 14nm on the GPU side?

Answer: 5) We will discuss SKUs when Polaris debuts mid-year.

I get the feeling, the answer will be featuring in a lot of the answers.

That whole AMA was rubbish really, other than basically confirming Polaris news Mid 2016, the rest of it was "i cant talk about that" or "thats not an area of the business i deal with"

Smells like the whole thing was setup just to leak that Polaris is due Mid-2016, maybe some kind of ploy to get people to hold off buying rivals cards until then? who knows..

So much for talking about polaris, they barely said anything relevant or new.

The only main downside was that he said they had no developments for Trueaudio at the moment. which is a shame since games really need an Aureal3D type system again. Sound is so bloomin bland in games now.

should be looked at as a way to get people excited about amd products
i agree tho them replies dont do that at all ><

maybe they need to do more unofficial chats for that, but i guess if they worried about losing their job for getting something wrong thats pretty sad
safe corporate answers just bore the hell out of everyone!

I really think RTG is starting to get somewhere, as all the Nvidia users are desperately still clinging onto the last vestige of mockery which is the "Overclockers Dream" statement. Keep dredging it up guys if that is all you have left.
:p

AMD marketing... AMD marketing never changes.

They are forever getting expectations up for events like this, which always, always turn out to be damp squibs.

"Ask me anything, but I won't answer. Fun for the whole family!"
