X99 motherboard for overclocking

I may have got my hands on a 5960x so I'm looking at motherboards now, would also need some DDR4 if you wouldn't mind recommending some.

Board doesn't need anything fancy, I will probably use an m.2 drive though either now or in the future, sound doesn't matter as I'll be using an external solution. Just want a solid, reliable board that's good for overclocking.
 
I'm looking for an x99 board and some ddr4 ram now as well.
Currently wondering if there is any real reason to get memory faster than a Vengeance 2400MHz (32GB) kit or similar, and whether it's worth going for something with usb 3.1 (don't yet have any devices that use it).

I'm wondering about the USB 3.1 version of the Asus X99-A, but I haven;t really decided yet.
 
Well I do like the orange colour and outside usb 3.1 the features look good (and i'm not sure if that really matters, if I can grab an addin card if I need one later).

Shame it's out of stock though.
 
Hmm, I was leaning towards the X99p-sli, but reading about the m2 slot needing a 5930k to run at full speed takes away one of the advantages, and as the Champion is back in stock thats looking better again, maybe with one oif the Kingston fury 32gb kits.

I might be able to get over to the shop later, so we'll see :-)
 
Bought the Champion last week and now finished reinstalling water cooling etc.
Overclocked my (Golden ;)) 5820k to 4.5GHz (AIDA 64 stability test stable) at 1.15V with ease and no dramas. Best value X99 board for overclocking by far.
If you get one just make sure you don't update the BIOS to F20 or 21a- they mess up the CPU Cache. F4m BIOS works well for me

I got a champion, a 5820k and a H1200 cooler yesterday, and should have a new case coming later, so i'll be seeing about getting things set up some time this week :-)
