Now, If the knife does turn out to be the Murder weapon and,
If (Somehow) it proves beyond reasonable doubt that OJ did NOT commit the Murders...!
Then, would he be entitled to get his money back in the civil case??

maybe he could appeal - but I don't see how it could 'prove' he didn't do it
the knife, if it doesn't have blood from the victims, is just another knife with no relevance...
if it does have blood from the victims, given it was found at his home, then it is another piece of evidence against him
basically it is likely either going to be irrelevant or it is going to be evidence against him

That is why I specified "Somehow" without suggesting what that "somehow" might be.
It is just a hypothetical question regarding the way the US legal system works.
I laughed at this when I first read it..... Crazy how a crucial part of evidence appears many years later....
So it was a destruction worker who handed it to an off duty cop. Surely as an officer of the law he would realise how important this item could(have) be.
I then jokingly suggested that it was just on his mantle piece and used as a conversation starter for parties... I wasn't far wrong with the guy saying he was going G to have it framed! XD
But late now. Be interesting to see results of any tests they might do.
Edit: also watched the naked gun films over the weekend, still make me laugh hard but there's a scene in the 3rd where frank is giving a retirement speech and mentions" any killing will have to be in is own home and hopefully an intruder and not a family member/relative"..... OJ was right next to him.....awkward I thought looking back
