Hi all,
I am very new to computer gaming at the weekend
I bought a tower that's is already set up and running
It has Intel i7 2440k, as I'm new I'm not sure
What the normal running temps are,
It runs at around 40-50 when just on the home screen
But when I go onto a game through steam it will shoot
Up to around 60-75. I have spoken to a friend who got me
Into gaming PCs and he advised to get an aftermarket
cooler (corsair or kraken), he said before buying
Post on here and see if anyone else could advise me
on what could help bring the temps down
Thanks
Jimmi

those are pretty standard temps on a stock cooler/maybe a little high, what case do you have? some of the coolers are quite large so if the case is small then that will affect the cooler you can use.
if you can list your case or some dimensions of space available, this will make it easier to recommend a cooler.

Idle temps seem a bit high, load temps are what id expect to see with a 4770k using the stock cooler. Theese are hot running chips and tbh the stock cooler is rather poor.
