Looking for trip ideas for the easter weekend

I was surprised that she said she would like to a we are fairly newly a couple

We both like smiliar things
Nature, geeky things, willing to give activities a go (she doesn't like theme parks though)

I'm torn between the safe option of London.. With the science museum, natural history museum, sea life centre, etc etc
And something more natural like the peak district

Also, as we all know, the weather is very dubious this time of year.

Would you guys play it safe with London or go more off piste.

I would avoid CP when kids are off.
We go every year for a winter break, and went last year half term week.
Never again! Rammed, can't book a table for dinner!

Book a nice hotel in the country, go out for the occasional dinner and spend the rest of the time in your room or spa facilities.

It'll be what she's expecting anyway, be rude to disappoint. :D

Yeah no centre parcs
It's double the price and as said will be rammed. More. Money, less enjoyment. Pass!

I think I'll go for the countryside thing.
London is too... Standard. Probably more suited to day trips.

Lamphey Court in Pembrokeshire.

Quite posh, nice Spa, Pembrokeshire is beautiful and there's plenty to do and see. And doesn't cost the same as an oversea holiday ala Centre Parcs.

Might be trek but worth it.

i've been down to London twice recently for the film cons, the museums are awesome and free, so that's something to consider. tons of other stuff, the 20 Kensington building is free too but you have to book in advance.

Longleat Center Parcs is a place we have visited annually for ~10 years, love the place; Warminster train station only a few miles down the road; there's a Lidl right outside the station to buy those things you suddenly realise you forgot to pack (without being stung by the on campus shop); taxi rank at station; nice woods (albeit they had to chop loads of trees down a few years back to try and stop the spread of a nasty tree disease) and lake to cycle around on a campus that has a mix of flat/hilly terrain.

But on Easter weekend, you will get stung badly by the demand price hike and there will be screaming kids everywhere!

Silly me forgot Easter was early this year, when booking a week off work that we normally visit Longleat on, so we are going in May instead.
