Hi there,

My mate has a BMW M4 with a couple of parking scratches on (not his doing). He wants to get them smart repaired as he imagines BMW will charge over the odds and expect him take to garage/collect which is difficult as he works long hours. He's looking to sell it soon and the car is almost new (2000 miles). It's Imola Red.

Anyone know the best avenue to take? I've only had someone do my curbed alloys, not paintwork.

Cheers - James

Assume they won't polish out etc first before looking at paint?

Even if it affects any bodywork/corrosion warranty on such a new car?

Not really, they will charge whatever the going rate is - depending on their own facilities, it may be another bodyshop that they are affiliated with that meets BMW bodywork repair accreditation.

and expect him take to garage/collect which is difficult as he works long hours.

BMW would surely collect and return the car (and provide a loan car) if asked (Audi always used to with my A3), so not sure that is a factor.

If he's selling it anyway, it's likely to be fairly dead money getting the scratches repaired.

Has anyone other than pre millennium Mercedes owners ever claimed on these successfully? ;)
