I for one think this is a load of bull.

This bit:
"It is stated that Samsung is in direct cooperation with NVIDIA on deployment of HBM2 memory for their cards and have already begun production as of early 2016. SK Hynix on the other hand is directly cooperating with AMD for the development of the new HBM2 memory dies for their Polaris GPUs however SK Hynix has stated to commence mass production in Q3 2016."

I was under the impression it was AMD working with Samsung NOT nvidia.

both vendor seem to start the new line up with small chips for mobile, AMD rumored to start shipping in April, so May seem reasonable for Nvidia to start shipping too.
and about HBM, AMD developed HBM with SK, that doesnt mean they are joined at the hip, AMD will get HBM from samsung, when SK start mass production, AMD will get it there probably at a lower price than anyone else, and beside who else uses HBM other than Nvidia and AMD in big quantity ? i dont see anyone else, so it's not like samsung is going to run out of stock or something :D

As far as HBM goes Samsung isn't working with anyone specifically - AMD have some R&D connections with Hynix in regards to HBM but that is another story.

Samsung has been ploughing ahead on HBM production and supposedly will be a couple of months or so ahead of Hynix in terms of availability for use in products meaning that 8GB (not Gb) configurations for GPUs could potentially be available in little more than a matter of weeks and 16GB around the end of the year/early next year.

Nothing, I'm not a Nvidia fan so I don't look in there.

I just saw that and instantly said "what a load of crap"

The story has served it's purpose, its got you excited and you've posted a link to it in a major tech forum which will increase site traffic and ad revenue.
