My go to drink is a nice vodka and mixer.

Over the years I experimented and found that Vodka is the drink that gets me high, in a good mood and energetic.

Beer 'works' but I find I have a higher tolerance for Vodka than I do for beer.

3 pints of beer and I'll slur and loose balance. :p

Vodka, I can drink in volume and still be fairly operational. You might not even be able to tell how smashed I actually am by talking to me.

Anyway.... I want to talk about the different types of Vodka.

I haven't tried many. Smirnoff, Absolute and Russian Standard.

Smirnoff is my go to. Absolute I find is like water. It's not as intoxicating as the other two. In fact the last time I drunk it, I wouldn't even say I was drunk. I felt more dulled, like I was stoned. Wasn't good.

Russian Standard, is similar to Smirnoff but not as refined. Has more of a 'burn' to it.

Any other good Vodka's out there?

Also on the topic of Smirnoff, there are three different colours. Red, Black and Blue. Whats the difference?

As above, no mixer. Grey goose is a good easily available one to try straight.

With mixer you want something that keeps some taste, like a spiced rum.
Vodka flavour is easily over powered.
Vodka and mixer, just get as cheap a vodka as possible and get drunk. Perfectly valid, but no point wasting money.

It's such a shame Vodka isn't appreciated like whisky, I don't know off a single decent vodka bar. Where a fair few pubs sell a large and respectable selection off whisky.

Chase is nice, as is Uluvka. I had a few bottles of General John Stark vodka once as well which is made from apples in New Hampshire, not sure you can still get it. That was quite tasty.

I would say im quite the vodka drinker and can honestly say spending that bit more on vodka can go a long way. Vodkas like smirnoff and russian standard I wont go near. They are awful and tend to give me hangovers. Go for a mid range vodka, something like Ciroc or chase. its a bit more expensive but you notice the clean nicer taste. My current selection :)

Grey goose again is nice and smooth. There are so many different ones now, Ciroc, Chase, skull head, sipsmith etc, i personally have Grey goose which i will drink straight, We have one in the lakes that is mixed with toffee which is really nice, i also have a bottle of Royal Dragon with the gold leaf in, i've not opened my bottle though as we have it at work and i tried it there, it's not that smooth.

I looked at that bottle of Elyxir in Dubai airport but had my royal dragon already so couldn't buy it. I'll see what i can get from duty free on my way back from Italy in a few weeks.

Just stay away from Belvedere, don't know why but it tastes awful compared to grey goose when both are drank straight.

I only buy Grey Goose when getting vodka now. It's so much nicer.

Sadly I don't mix well with vodka, but I love it. :(

Wyborowa isn't bad or Zubrowka which were the 2 I mainly drank in Poland. So much better than the likes of Smirnoff or russian standard.

Can we all agree that if you spend a fortune on Belvedere in a terrible bar and then throw coke into it that you should be put down?
