This. No Mexicans complained.
Having worked with couple of Mexicans, the only way they'd get upset about a party would be if you didn't invite them.
+1 on this.

The Harvester is pretty ***** though.
This story shows that the left have become more intolerant than the right.
Mexicans have been using the sombrero as branding their products for ages, there's sierra tequila that uses a sombrero as it's lid so those little hats could have been the lids from the bottles being served at the tequila party lol. Actually I don't think I've ever seen a Mexican moan about people using the sombrero at a 'Mexican themed' event....
It's getting to the point where I'm actually losing track of what is 'acceptable' terms to use these days in case of falling foul of one of the 'discrimination' cards, they seem to keep changing their minds so that every week is something new or different.

professionally offended
I think it's highly likely that none of the Thought Police behind this have actually taken the time to meet with a few actual Mexicans and ask their opinions on the matter.
Culture appropriation. ****ing hell.

says it all really, we've managed to breed an entire generation of attention seeking brats.
It is weird isn't it as it is essentially racist/xenophobic. It's like these folk are trying to whitewash other cultures out of our (well in this case the US, but it no doubt goes on here as well) society.I thought this was meant to be a good thing didnt it used to be called cultural enrichment.
Sounds lretty racist "how dare you do something from outside your culture"
Imagine the backlash from theae students if a right wing party had done it "yoga is banned because it isnt western" zomg racism!!!

This just about sums it up.

Lol! How did we get here? I'm so glad I've never been to university to experience any of this.
Can you say "whitewash"?![]()
Do we really care about a liberal arts college doing this?
If it was MIT, Harvard, Oxford or whatever, maybe it might have something of interest in arguing.
Right now its basically arguing that politicians obfuscate or wall street takes consecutive dumps on Queens residents for being mildly poorer than them.
Don't worry find most university students aren't like that. However you will probably find those wanting to enter student politics are... They then try and move up to real politics...
