Finally go to level 30. Took me 36 hours in total and enjoyed every moment of it.

Did a few missions with randoms and did some tonight with a few guys from here.

have only been in the DZ a few times first I died straight away

Second again I died straight away

3rd was with Gamble but again died quickly and needed to go get something to eat after my pc hard locked for the 3rd time :\ (now fixed by starting uplay as admin)

Hopefully when I am off on Thursday and Friday I can do aload of DZ stuff.

Fantastic game and worth the full price I paid (I wanted it in steam)

Oh and NEXUS congrats on your first purple. Hopefully there will be more to come.

I'm nearly level 30 myself now, but I'm going more off the game the longer I play it. The story is near non existant, no memorable characters, bosses all look the same, and although Dark Zone is kinda fun it's not a proper PVP area and doesn't really mean anything.

Unless I'm missing the abundance of end game content that appears at level 30?

This game could have been so good, but it's flawed in many ways.

Pretty much my take on it. It's a grind fest. It's fun early on but gets repetitive really quickly and the story is as bland as it gets.

Am I missing something really simple here, or is the weapon vendor being a douchebag?

Level 10 at the moment and haven't even put a single step in DZ as yet. I agree that missions tend to be all the same, similar enemies, duck, cover, shoot etc and yes the story makes a COD story look good. But for some reason that I cannot put my finger on, I love it. I love exploring, running around the city, upgrading kit etc and the core shooting I think is brilliant.

It's actually so good that it has kept me away from playing The Witcher 3 for nearly a week!

Spent most of yesterday in the DZ, got upto rank 20 with a few friends. Meet a few people in there who just stuck to their own. No rogues at all.

I haven't noticed many rouges myself. I think the risk far outweighs the reward so not a huge amount of people will be doing it.

People we ran into just wanted to be the 4th in our group and run around killing things. If people flagged rogue it was due to people running infront of bullets at hotspots but no one ever turned on each other.

yeah,we had same yesterday, killing some boss in DZ when some player outside of our group run in front and got enough damage to flag whole team rouges, funny enough nobody tried to kill us :D wouldnt be big loss,as we just extracted all loot, except dz creds

Yeah. There's literally no incentive to go Rogue and HUUUUGE penalty when you die Rogue (which is pretty much every time you kill someone due to the uber long timer and appearing on the map). It's like they designed it to be as anti-pvp as possible ... in the pvp zone.... It makes zero sense =(

I find the game has plenty of story. There's no handholding through Beginning Middle and End like a book or movie.. it's like they throw you in the middle of the book and you run around finding random pages. There was this one phone conversation I picked up of this old lady ringing asking for help and crying that she didn't want to be alone - that struck me a bit tbh. There's a whole backstory on before the virus hit, what people's lives were like and the events leading up to it and you kind of come across it fairly organically.
Although you could definitely argue the lack of A to B narrative is a negative, but it's not like they can have you cure the virus and save New York so there's no real "end" they can give without killing the game.

Ofcourse there is an incentive going rogue. Have you even seen how long it takes getting to DZ rank 50 from 40?

It's a long grind and if you want to be able to use the yellow blueprints that are capped at DZ rank 50 then the rewards from surviving a manhunt helps a lot.

There is little to no hit with sweetfx, if you inject SMAA then you will get 2-5fps hit. I find that there is no need for any aa in this game tbh, can't really see any jaggies at all.

that's a weird one. Havent noticed that, will check that point when Im back on

EDIT: Quite liking that sweetfx. I have been using Kputts config which is very subtle. I even use that one for GTA.

Xenthor's reshade and sweetfx looks pretty tidy however

Yeah it is quite off-putting tbh, reminds me of the star wars battelfront issue on ice maps and a few desert/based ones.

I use sweetfx for every game and usually k-putts too :p His are usually the best without over doing the colours.

Finally got a purple blue print too, the AUG... Something actually worth while crafting :p

Good lord, playing @ rank 21 on a hard mission, when the squad has a rank 25 and rank 30 in it, is impossible. One shotted every time, and about 6 full clips to drop one enemy.
And any rewards you pick up are level locked.

Also some of the respawn points on missions mean you end up respawning in the middle of the enemy who one shotted you before! :(

I had something similar yesterday, queued up for the apartment mission (Lvl14) and got put in with a level 10,11 and 12. Save to say they spent nearly all the mission on the deck bleeding out. Got to the stage where I stopped trying to save them.

haha yeah that was chaotic! As soon as you left, things were a lot easier though :p Less enemies with just 3 players.

I think a few things are level locked but some aren't.

Now I know how my enemies must feel in bf 4 when base rape happens lol

Does it give you a fair chunk of XP? You seem to lose far more than you gain in either circumstance.

Also I received the hazmat stuff now after emailing Ubi :D

That needs fixing, I've been stuck in a endless cycle of respawning into a mob of enemies, dying - rinse and repeat until your team bait them off or you fail the level.
