Upgrade the DT990s?

Hey chaps,

After some advice, I'm currently using a pair of 990's through my DAC>Lyr combo and want a bit of advice.

Is the HD650 the next logical step up? I've heard great things and just wondering if there are any other options to look at?

Will the Senns pair well with the Lyr? I've contemplated swapping the Lyr out for a Magni/modi combo as it would free up a bit of desk space too.

If you want to reduce the space being used then a Modi 2 & Vali 2 stack would be a better way to go.

My HD650s are used for several hours every night while my DT990s are boxed up and sit in the wardrobe - need I say more?

I also enjoy the sound from my AKG K702s (after bass port modding them), which seem to have mellowed greatly over the last couple of years and something like the AKG K712 would be even better.

Depends what sound signature you like some people prefer the HD 600 over HD 650.

HAve you tried fidelio x1/x2 how do they stack up compared to the HD650 ?

I haven't but Ryan has and he much prefers the HD650.
