Nvidia GTX 900 series and boot issues

Before i bite the bullet and buy one of these...are there still issues with the gtx900 series of Nvidia cards and getting stuck at bootup?

I've got the following mobo Gigabyte Z77X-D3H but have never updated the bios.

I would update the BIOS if you are going to get a new GPU regardless of NVidia or AMD as that board needs it from what I have seen.

On an older bios the Z77 and also the Z87 D3H boards are known to have issues with new cards from both AMD and NVIDIA. Flashing to the latest bios sorts it out.

Mate of mine had my 970 and my z68 MoBo and had to update the bios. Get that done and it'll probably be sorted

It's fine if you use a usb flash drive. Never a great idea to update through a windows utility. Asus and msi boards in particular as the software both use has been the cause of corrupt bios updates.

Yeah I flash drive down it. Went smoothly but still a little nerve wracking.... right now to buy a 970.....
