The Division. Are we interested?

the grind is basically an ever lasting quest for better loot (gear)

With monthly updates expected then it might get more interesting but it's essentially the same thing over and over and over like diablo or any mmo.

Went into the DZ for the first time yesterday (am level 10 normal). Stepped in, admired The Empire State Building, two dudes squared up to me, got shot, got scared, left the DZ, haven't been back in. lol.

Trust me,nothing to be scared - you can go as a lone wolf, but its way much funnier to go with group, just try to find good players - i wanted to hit 30DZ lvl yesterday and decided to do matchmaking - oh god, what a mistake - i got in team with 3 teenagers, who barely managed to shot any npc's,yet gone rouge instantly when saw other players - now,i have no problem with going rouge, but those had no clue what they doing, hid behind some wall in corner,i left them and they even not noticed it,sadly i got delta error straight after,or i would have got 3 easy rouge kills :D

I will actually make low level alt,as i was enjoying those low lvl journeys into DZ ;)

Not bought this yet but might today.

Question, what does getting killed in the DZ actually do to your character? Do you get ransacked and lose all your kit? It seems a scary place to go at the moment judging by some of the comments I've seen :)

Anyone got a video or an FAQ about what to do with Crafting, I seem to have a load of Blue Weapon parts and fabric but have no idea what I need to do with them.

no,you wont left naked :D
you just loose DZ credits and loot you found and from killed NPC's,while it might look scary,in reality its not, usually lone wolfs getting killed by groups,so always better be with group, sure it is always that feeling when you going to extract loot, but again, with group is much more secure

You can recraft them into high end parts, just go into you crafting,go where the yellow parts are (at the very bottom) and you can recraft blue ones into high end - this way you will save them for later high end gear

Loving this game so far, the level design is amazing!

The only annoying thing so far is that my group of mates are all at different levels and it causes issues grouping where the session is either too easy (1 person 1 shots everything) or too hard where 1 person gets one shotted - either way this is no fun. There should be a way of putting a cap on the damage from level/items when grouping with lower level players.

100% agree with this WHY cant coop games do what guild wars does.

You scale to down to the zones your in. Granted to the "high" end of the zone, but least its not a cake walk. Makes the game a lot more group friendly.

So now with me working away all week, i wont be able to group with my friends till we are all 30 now lol. Ah well.

Played every day since launch day, level 7 after 20 hours so I am firmly on the slow and steady pace!

I find myself just wandering around and getting sidetracked - going in every open door and climbing every ladder I find. Before I know it the 2 or 3 hours I have to game is over and I've not finished my mission or very many missions.

Having a blast and really enjoying the game. I have had very few issues, with servers or graphically and I am running on Ultra setting. I think I've got many hours left to play.

I have only played solo, not yet ventured into the DZ, so can't comment on the matchmaking or the DZ experience. I'll get there eventually.

Some points that I believe would really improve the immersion in the single player game.

I would like to see more random encounters, particularly inside buildings. I have been in many apartments and offices where they are empty of people. It would be good to find looters, criminals or NPCs in these places, rather than a succession of empty places. The level of detail inside is amazing but they just feel too empty. A bump in general random encounters would be good.

As a solo player, I don't feel like I am a part of a mobilised elite force. It would be good to see other division agents (not necessarily to interact with, but just get the feeling that there are others out there). Sometimes when you come across a firefight, there are JTF soldiers fighting the bad guys but it would be good if some of those characters were replaced by Division agents, and I could go help them. No interaction necessary, just make them visible on the streets.

Otherwise, gameplay is solid, the storyline is engaging and I haven't been sucked into a shooter of any type like this since STALKER, and dare I say it, the original Rainbow Six.

30 mins until the servers are back...can't wait!

Cheers
