Hi.

i am looking to upgrade my nissan micra to one of these with a budget of around 15/16k and dont mind a 1 year or 2 year old second hand as well.

I did check the Honda civic and would ideally want to get the 2015 version but doesnt seem to have any second hand ones in london so i will need to get brand new.

What are peoples thoughts on the mazda 2? seems cheaper and pretty feature packed.

Are mazda's as reliable as honda's?

Seems odd that you are picking between two cars in different classes?

Jazz vs Mazda 2 or Civic vs Mazda 3 would be the comparison surely?

Do you need the size of the Civic?

yea for extra boot space, the mazda 2 looks similar size to the civic and the mazda 3 looks larger then the civic too.

Going on the current versions, the micra has a bigger boot than the mazda 2. The 3 is against the civic\focus\golf. The 2 is against the fiesta\corsa\jazz
Theyt are in different classes and the civic will be bigger in every way over the Mazda 2, and on par with the Mazda 3.

Ok fair enough , comparison with the mazda 3 vs honda civic then. Can the mods change title to reflect this change?

Anyways i looked at the mazda 3 and it starts at 17k while the honda civic starts at 14k

the Honda is 100% reliable and yes the Civic is quite a lot bigger than my Jazz, i cant understand how the Honda can be so reliable, quality control i suppose.

the Jazz is a perfect everyday boring car :D

The 9th gen Civic is a fantastic car, I would call it one of the most under-rated car on sale today, go and try it out, the Mazda3 is nice and slightly more sportier, but the Civic is a much more clever and better all round package.

I've a civic so slightly bias, and would recommend them to all. Go and talk to the dealers for both makes, they should be able to get you a used car of the approved list and bring it to London if you're going to buy from them. You'll save big on the depreciation and be able to get better spec.
