Travellers rejoice - the Supercard is here.

I'm curious, would withdrawing cash on Supercard linked to a credit card count as a cash advance? Or just a normal purchase?

This seems very similar to the revolut card. ive been living in France for the past 3 months and have been using this revolut card for practically all my purchases.

although you dont link the card to the app ypu do just top up in your local currency and then can convert to whichever currency you like whenver you feel the exchange rate is good. uses the mastercard exchange rate aswell so no fees.

I have to say I loved using mine and worked out to be pretty easy, and although I didn't save a huge amount, having travelled to 6 different countries last year (Oz, UAE, and Various places in Europe) the faff savings were worth it alone.

I signed up for this when it come out but missed out. Mondo are offering similar terms on their pre-paid cards and I've managed to grab one of those via their investor program. Looking forward to trying out "the bank of the future".

Pilot coming to an end:

We wanted you to be amongst the first to hear the good news: Supercard has the green light to launch nationwide this summer. That means that all your friends and family will at last have the opportunity to get a Supercard and start saving too.

To allow for a smooth transition, the Supercard pilot will formally come to a close at 00:01 on Tuesday 7th June 2016, and your current card will stop working on that date. But, fear not, that still gives you three more months to give it a test drive.

As one of our valued pilot users you’ll be the first to know about how you can get your hands on a free new Supercard, we'll be in touch again nearer the time with full details.

Thanks again,

The Travelex Supercard Team

nice use for it

someone I know (yes really someone and not me) bought £20k premium bond on SC, charged to Virgin Atlantic Visa at no surcharge, immediately cashed bonds in, hey presto 20k free airmiles

rinse and repeat :p

During the pilot, we saw that most of you preferred using Supercard to pay for things, rather than to withdraw money from an ATM. We wanted you to be able to keep spending on your new card without fees and charges*. To do this, we’ve had to add a small 2.99% charge*
Slightly disappointing, doesn't matter how they couch it. So much for "say goodbye to roaming charges".

well that sucks.

however there is another one I found out about, but cant remember the name. it was virtually identical. must try finding out what it was.
