I just received my new gtx 970 hof 8pack card and for some reason im getting a random light blue screen and have to press the reset button. i have the latest drivers and my system is good enough for the card.

any idea if this is a normal thing with the gtx 970 cards ?

No.

Go to nvidia.com and search for and manually download the 362.00 driver for 970 and your Windows version. Run as Admin, custom/clean. Test. If that fails, download DDU and run it to clear all traces of drivers and try again.

Which PSU does your system have?

And does the motherboard have the most up-to-date BIOS?

i will give it a try thanks. My psu is a evga 750 gq and will also check my motherboard if all fails. I was going to get a r9 390 and wish i did now. hope its not the gtx 970 been faulty ......

so i have done a complete system restore and installed the new drivres and now im not getting any blue screen but when playing unreal tournament im getting a lot of freezing and jumping. My gtx 960 evga that i have just taken out worked perfect. Do you think i could have a faulty card and will overclockers swap the card for me ?

Just put my gtx 960 evga back in and runs perfwect with no blue screens and no freezing at all. Will overclockers let me return the card as i only got it today

thanks

yes if its faulty they will have to I would have thought :)

Phoned overclockers and they agree it sounds like a faulty card. Returned for a refund as the card is now out of stock and bought a r9 390 hope to have better luck with that card. Has anyone else had any trouble with faulty cards from brand new?

ive not had a problem with new card yet but ive only owned 2 from new as not been into pc gaming for long,it is pritty rare to have a faulty card from new but does happen

Had a Geforce 9600GT that was DOA a few years back. Caused all kinds of artifacting and banding issues. It can and does happen unfortunately.

Just had to send back an Asus 390 strix as it was faulty on receipt, that's first I have had in the last 10 years that's been faulty out of the box though, these things happen no matter who makes the product.

I have a 980ti hof edition
And mines just started misbehaving after 4.5mnths :(
Not sure why but it's frustrating ...
New of just 4mnths old :(

My brothers 980ti HOF broke too with barely any use, think he had a VRAM issue since it was artifacting from the first screen until the desktop. Guess these things happen from time to time!

Swapping to a 390 may have been a good choice in the long run anyway!

Got my new r9 390 very happy with it. Plays my games 60fps smooth and also is very cool. Temps around 50 when gaming so all good. Does anyone know a good overclocking program that tells you temps, fps and how much mem is being used. I have trixx but doesnt monitor fps

cheers
