I think there's more chance of a terrorist incident in London or any other European capital city than confined to a single All Inclusive resort in Turkey.
Turkey is just a horrible place. I hope your wife isn't blonde and the leering men try not to stick their hand up her dress, like the lot that did with my missus !
An explosion at a major tourist shopping area in the Turkish city of Istanbul has injured a number of people, Turkish media say.
Pictures showed people running away in panic, with police and ambulance vehicles rushing to the scene.
The area - Istiklal Street - is reportedly crowded at weekends.
turkey will be coming to Europe soon, so no need to travel so far.
Turkey is already in Europe (at least a good chunk of it is). As for EU membership, I think that may still be some way off.
Lol @ Turkey being described as a 'no go zone'. Yeah, I'd avoid the south east, but Istanbul is a huge distance from there... and one recent terrorist incident isn't enough to put me off. I'm not put off going to Paris, or Oslo, or Belgium, etc.
I can read, thanks. Still, I wouldn't class it as no-go, or not go myself. The fact Charlie Hebdo happened, then there were the more recent Paris attacks, didn't make Paris no-go to me, either.
Okay, thank you everyone for sharing their experiences and advice regarding Istanbul. The attack that has just happened in Istanbul has completely put us off so we have crossed that off the list!
Now to find somewhere else to go..
Thousands of migrants leaving Turkey for northern Europe, and where does an Englishman want to go on holiday? Turkey..... There'll be enough Turks over here soon enough, once they get Visa free travel to parts of Europe, without risking your neck going there to see some![]()

It's exactly the same thing people from Columbia get. Or New Zealand. Or Argentina.
