The Division. Are we interested?

I'm taking the game slow and steady as well as I'm enjoying the side missions/encounters etc as well as a run in the dz every now and then.

When I get ky rank in dz up a bit I might join you guys, think I'm 18 in the dz at the moment, 23 normal.

Just an fyi - I noticed a massive increase in the amount of purple loot I started getting when I hit level 26. I'd basically got none before then.

Thats taking it slow! I've played nearly 30 hours and I'm not ranked that high :(

I think the lowest level purple I got was 20, and that was crafting. The lowest drop I got was 24, and that was when I was running around with 120% scavenging on.

Spent 10 hours straight on Saturday. Got my DZ rank from 36 to 45. Then got to 50 on Sunday. Shame I had to do the same two levels twice after having two different people walk into my gunfire (I think deliberately) and then shoot me when I go rogue.

Got really bored of the DZ and find the whole process of needing Division Tech for blueprints frustrating.

Thankfull DZ credits aren't completely pointless as all the safe house except the end one has some kind of blueprint for sale for DZ credit not Phoenix credits.

Nah, High End mate -

There are better talent rolls, but this is the best of the 4 I made (taking into account the high damage roll and usable talents)
The trouble is, all the DZ blueprints require 3 High End Division Tech - so you'll be limited on how many attempts you can do :(

Haha, that's why I made my alt :D

who has the yellow aug blue print? I don't want purple as the base dmg is too low.

Some have over 100 hours! :p

Might as well get into the game properly now, get everything out of the way and be ready for the next DLC stuff.

Running most things on high, I think the main things are:

particle detail - high
ambient occ. - ultra (HBAO+ looks nice and doesn't impact performance too much but it creates shadows on objects when it shouldn't)
all shadows settings - high
the object and distance sliders - about 50%
DOF, lens flare, CA - off (don't like these effects)
post fxaa - off (can't see any jaggies tbh)
volumetric fog - medium

Average FPS outside is about 44 and inside, locked to 60. There is nothing that can be reduced to get much higher FPS outside without massively impacting IQ. This game feels nice and smooth unlike other games at 40-50 fps though.

If you haven't got a free/g sync screen, mess around with vsync option + FPS locks and nvidia control panel vsync options. For me, locking FPS to 60 via AMD crimson and having the vsync option "on" in game seems the best.

Thanks, seems about right as I actually happen to run the same settings (+DoF on medium) as you:p. I'm getting around 50-55 avg outside, though there are streets where it dips to 42-45. The 970 is getting old, even at 1500mhz. Still feels quite smooth, though.

If you want some more fps you can turn down Ambient Occlusion to low, there's hardly any difference in gameplay scenarios and you can recoup a couple of frames that way.

Bought this on Saturday and played co-op with my brother yesterday afternoon and I've got to say, in two-player, it absolutely rocks. So many great moments that just made us laugh like a couple of kids playing computerised cowboys and indians - the best one was the end of one mission where we were faced with a large open area with a boss at the end of it. I got the boss surpressed with frequent AK47 bursts from cover, while he snuck around the side and put a bullet in the boss' head from behind.

I'm not normally one for tactical shooters, but the RPG element to this makes it incredibly compulsive and addictive. And it looks stunning - running around at night and seeing little things like the way falling snow changes as it passes through the light cast by a street light. We'd been playing a lot of co-op Diablo 3 lately, but I can see this being our game of choice for several weeks ...

For the ones who rushed to level 30 then stepped into the DZ how did you get on, murderfest or people just running around farming mobs in the DZ?

Want to get the game finished but currently trying to keep my DZ rank near my level bracket.

Level 24 with DZ level 21.

Anyone else really want a zombie DLC mode? This game is setup perfectly for it and would be a lot of fun

Ah cool, will try reducing it later on tonight then.

Nope wrong type of game for it, I'd much rather we get to assault one of the many skyscrapers and clear out levels that get harder, like Greater rifts on D3. Higher level you reach the better loot drop chance you have.

I stayed 24 until DZ30 yesterday. Decided to move on towards 30 as I was bored to tears farming DZ mobs.

Now the same mobs in the same zones are pretty hard. First group almost hazed me, and I bailed after that. Soloing DZ at 30 is not for me, and the xp is comparable to 24.

Ah good to know.

I have a good amount of Purple loot already but as a few others have said, DPS can be higher with some blues until you hit the big drops or yellow items.

Im still having fun with it, just don't want to rush and get bored

I think that is a pretty awesome idea!

Escape the spreading infection would be good. 1 player becomes infected, has to spread the infection to all the other players on the server.

Still not picked up any yellows yet, My current 3 are either bought or made. Might try to remove my scavenger bonuses although they're not very high.

My kneepads are purple but have 70% scavenger on them, not come across anything decent enough to replace them so I will just roll with that until the time comes.

Completely agree, played the main missions exclusively coop with a buddy of mine, all on hard difficulty and it's been a great laugh.

Don't think I'd be enjoying the game anywhere near as much if playing solo, do some of the side missions and encounters solo and level up a bit and we just message each other to let other person know what rank we are up to. Trying to stay within a rank of each other throughout.

The power of online play and loot driven mechanics is pretty staggering. Apart from the graphics, this seems a very average game so far at 10 hours played. One of my biggest gripes is the lack of enemy variation. There's just no excuse for this. It's still good enough to continue to want to play, but it seems a missed opportunity overall so far.
