Oh God no please don't start down this road.

The only reason everybody is using the vector is because the high end blueprint is available from the advanced vendor in the base of operations.

It is more to do with the fact that some weapon types give a buff just for using it and some do not, Yeah the Vector is the most easily accessible one at the moment but the Aug and MP7 are still SMGs, I guess it depends on how the stats Acc\Stabilty fall on those compared to the vector. While an Assault rifle does more initial damage the SMG give a bonus to crit chance just for using it so will be too good to pass up. It is the same with the Marksman rifle giving a bonus to headshot damage as standard.

Stacking +Crit chance and +Crit damage gear and using a SMG far outweighs using an Assault rifle with superior stats in end purely for the burst potential.

Whereas the Assault Rifle gives you more versatility overall. The Burst damage from a well specced Liberator and decent gear can, and mostly will, outweigh the damage from a Vector. Plus you have the added versatility of range - the SMGs really require you to be close in order to maximise their damage as the damage fall-off range is pitiful. At the end of the day no two players are the same and their own play-style will dictate what works best for them. I know that in any given engagement, I have enough damage output to down someone using my Liberator before they can get close enough to use their Vector effectively. It's less fun when you come across people that have stacked Firearms and Sniper damage though, unless you have a lot of cover.

My AK does more than my Aug - with the proviso that I'm hitting the head (which is most of the time with either gun). The aug probably has a higher body dps but I have the headshot talent (brutal?) and stack headshot damage through mods on my AK and I stack crit hit and crit damage on my aug.

He's a named boss who drops high level loot. You could farm him from a nearby checkpoint repeatedly if you weren't a complete noob and to killed all his henchmen.

A Boss near Autumns Hope safe house, abusing a respawn glitch to farm high end gear from him .

Only found out about it yesterday and pretty much farmed him constantly from 9-12:30 last night.

Got 1 yellow, a butt load of purples and enough credits to buy two yellow patterns and all the crafting supplies needed, plus a few 100k credits.

Worth it for one night but bit stupid that was the easiest way to get end game gear.
