PureVPN weirdness - UK servers but US/UAE location?

I bought a subscription to PureVPN because it was on offer as I work abroad a lot and want to be able to access UK content.

Anyway, whenever I connect to a UK server Google Maps reports my location as America or UAE and when do a search in the address bar in Chrome it uses either google.com or google.ae.

When I click the 'Show your location' button in the bottom right it says my location cannot be determined. As soon as i disconnect from the VPN it works fine so.

I tried speaking to a PureVPN tech guy but he really wasn't very helpful. Anyone know if there is anything I can do get Google working like normal with my VPN?

It's weird, it does it on all their UK servers, London, Manchester, Gosport etc. etc.
